@stormy I don't know if pinging you from here will work. If you get this note, would you let me know? I'd appreciate meeting you here for a minute! Thanks!
@Stephie Thought I'd say hi while I popped in. I've been bad at chatting for months! I think of you often of course, and hope all is well with you, hubby and the minors! :)))

@Stephie @stormy i have something brown crawling up my blueberry bush, and was wondering if you could help me diagnose it
it's somewhere I can't take a picture of it, so i need to talk to you about it
the brown streak is on the underside of a green stem

5:26 AM
@acoder Crawling up as in "insect" or as in "discoloration"?

^_^ Just wanted to share that I recently realized success with my compost heap when I reached my hand within and felt the volcanic heat at the center. Such a wonderful feeling... now I just need to turn it more often and adjust the carbon to Nitrogen ratio.

@sue I believe pinging will only work if the pingee's name autocompletes as you're typing it. It looks like stormy hasn't been here recently enough, so...
@stormy @Sue would like a word when you have some time to chat.

@Stephie something that looks lie a teardrop going up from the base of the blueberry bush on a stem with a little brake between two of them, like wood hardening.

@acoder Hi there Sue! I have been bad, busy...couldn't even remember how to get to the Garden Shed. Niall gave me a heads up. I thought we'd get pinged from here. How do we manage to get together? Curious what somebody actually wants to talk with me about!
Shoot, how did that happen? acoder this was a reply to SUE. But I'd like to talk about your blueberries. Sure you aren't able to send pictures?
@FuzzyBoots I had the electrical companies pruning trees away from their lines dump their chips on my blackberries. Where I used to live...6' high piles for 60 yards! Winter was surrealistic...all the fog from the composting of these piles. So beautiful. The NEXT spring, I kid you not, these 6' piles were 6 INCHES. Not a blackberry in sight. No regrowth whatsoever.
@NiallC. Niall, what is the best way to 'make a date' to chat with Sue or anyone? It has been so long since I've been here.
@acoder So is this like Stephie asked an insect or vegetative conundrum?

@stormy Just reply to her message above. The nature of chat is that you won't necessarily be in the room at the same time, so you can either have a spread-out conversation where you drop messages for each other, or arrange a time that you can both be here together.

8:15 PM
@stormy not quite it's like the stem is green turning brown but the leaves look healthy still.

@NiallC. Thanks, Niall!
@acoder Coder, there has to be a way to post a picture, Stephie just did it, not sure if I have, but she'll lead you!! Or, Niall!! Or someone will! Just have to have pictures. I'll go look at my blueberries, have you cut into the branch to see the vascular system...?
I've got to learn how to post, as my new greenhouse, the skeleton anyhoo is so beautiful!! Great hubby!! I'll be back soon.
@Stephie Serviceberry and Elderberry are two of my absolute favs. Think about doing a GROVE of one or the other. I used the dark purple elderberry and the flowers/berries were spectacular. Serviceberry is pretty much the only 4 season beautiful tree I know. Have been 'pushing', 'endorsing' this tree like crazy for decades. Love the multiple stems best for a GROVE. 3 or more makes a grove...planted in unequal triangles, not in a line. Drag a bench out beneath and ahhhhhh!
