I had a controller connected as #1. The plug was loose, and it disconnected. When I reconnected, it was #2. Subsequent connections and disconnections always result in #2. Can this be changed without rebooting?

yeah, I don't like closing people's first questions, even with a little "Nice try! :)" comment I feel like it sort of reduces the chances they'll return. I suppose it has to be done, though.
@OrigamiRobot it's a barrier to entry, for sure. having your first post heavily edited or closed or deleted is a pretty poor first introduction to the site. I wish there was a better way, but so far I've not come up with one
as "power users" of the site we run the risk of being desensitized to the "average user" and "new user" experience

@John Thing is, they're still completely separate. YouTube is merely owned by Google, it's still relatively separate from Google. Which is very annoying.

I just finished the STAG party mission in Saints Row 3, and gave Birk to Cyrus so now I have a STAG city takeover option.
If I use this, will it just class the neighbourhood as 100%, but will I still need to buy the shops/complete the diversions etc?
If not, then will they count in my stats/100...
All trilogy sites, and almost all other SE2.0 sites, have a hover effect on their "ask question" button.
It can be argued the "ask question" button looks less "clickable" than how it looks in all the other family sites, it's very close to a decoration and thus really needs some way to emphasize ...
I understand that the main quest can be completed without taking sides in the civil war, but I'm at the point where I'm contemplating finishing the main story line. I'd like to go back and do the civil war afterwards....has anyone done that successfully?
I had the same problem, so I made some Fortify Restoration potions and drank a few of them before and while I made more Fortify Restoration and Fortify Enchanting potions.
It worked pretty well.
For embedded YouTube videos, can the player be 16:9 instead of 4:3? Most video game videos will be in this aspect ratio nowadays. And it takes no additional screen real-estate: if you just make the video player as wide as the answer area, and leave the height the same, you'll have a 16:9 player. ...

Nidoru is an Iron Dagger collector. In her short 11 levels of being alive she has smithed, collected and stolen about 100 Iron Daggers.
The Iron Dagger stack is marked as stolen whether in her personal inventory or in a container. I'm pretty sure she has just stolen about 5 or 6 of those daggers...
@GraceNote hmm, okay. I'm a bit disappointed in the mid- to late-game experience in Dungeons of Dredmor. It's got charm, but it's just not doing it for me. Perhaps I'll give brogue a shot soonish.

@Lazers eh, this video's a little... borderline. it's a video of some guy drawing a giant penis with some sort of explosives in BF3. I guess it's a valid question, but it feels a little troll-ish to me.
@Oak indeed. I think the skills are interesting in theory, but most of them are just sort of meh. I have a pet now, and I find it to be relatively annoying/buggy on the whole rather than more fun.

@agent86 yea, pets are problematic and buggy. The first time I loaded a game with a pet active it just followed me around doing almost nothing, but I was able to summon another one :\ but that has been fixed since
Weird. I've got a white dot on me screen that's scrolling up with the chat, but not at the same speed. It looks like one of the snowflakes from the christmas thing.
I have played this game twice, both times making it to about 80 percent through the main game. Both times that I turned the game off (making sure especially the second game not to do so when it was saving), it corrupted my saved file. Is there anyway to still play that file, or do I have to start...
