anyone around?
Yeah
wanna help me through a retarded spreadsheet test, so i don't have to take the class?
Haha, seems like cheating but I'll see what I can do.
I was looking for charts so that I could do what it says in the questions, but some of the questions must be outdated, because a couple of them I couldn't find any of the answers...
I hate when they try to test you on software where they aren't using the most current version and you are
Yeah.
00:52
this question has to deal with charts
How do you change the border on the chart?
figure if I had a chart I could figure it out
In Excel?
i can only assume they are using excel
Click the chart, then click "Format" under "Chart Tools", and then hit the expansion button under "Shape Styles".
Then "Border" is a drop-down on the right side.
my 4 options are
You cannot change the border on the chart

You can right click on the chart and then click on Format Chart Area option on the shortcut menu

You click on the Insert tab and then click on the Shapes button

You click on the Insert tab and then click on the Clip Art button
I am guessing the second one
Second option.
That works as well.

Eh, being tested on formatting Excel charts? Good grief
on the whole application
spreadsheet applications
What are some of the special effects in formatting?

Spiral

Spinning

Soft Edges

Jump in
s/applications/"applications"/
lol
some of the questions are horrible, imo
@Malachi Only one I can see is "Soft Edges."
Correct
I like this tool, it tells me immediately if the answer is correct or not
00:59
They should possibly test if you can make a pivot and other useful stuff... formatting spreadsheets is just busywork
Which charts would work best with data comparing several subjects in a test for a specific value over a period of time?

Pie chart

Column chart

Doughnut chart

XY scatter chart
that question is very odd, considering it is a single choice question
I would guess Column.
No
Wait
They may just be trying to find if you know what an XY chart is
Yeah, XY Scatter I would think.
All the other charts don't make sense for that data set
01:03
it is xy
hey I created a room for this, so we aren't hogging the room
41 messages moved from The 2nd Monitor
@Malachi is this for a job application or something like that?
it is so I don't have to take the class for my bachelor's degree.
i'd rather not spend the money on something this trivial.
and a lot of the stuff doesn't match the newest version of excel
Ohh OK, makes sense. Those all seem like pretty basic, but potentially "gotcha" questions
yeah I can do the whole thing again, but I have a max of 5 hours to complete it now
@Malachi you might want to rename the room, unless you want to own anyone who might come here looking for Excel help
01:09
lol
3
"Room for Malachi Excel help" may be better
room topic changed to Testing out, Shhhh: (no tags)
@Phrancis oh that would be better
room topic changed to Malachi Excel Help: (no tags)
There ya go
Also, I starred the first "lol" in this room
2
For the record
@Phrancis me too
What is the function of Row Labels area of a Pivot Table? (Choose 2)
These categories are on the left side of the Pivot Table

Data cannot be sorted in a row label

It places data in a row

It organizes and groups data into categories
I already clicked the first option
data cannot be sorted in a row label?
01:39
What is true about the types of graphs that can be created within a Pivot Chart?

There are no graphs in Pivot Charts

Pie chart is an example of a graph

By default Pivot Chart always display a bar graph when you first create it

You can only create bar chart in a Pivot Chart
@Phrancis ^^
I don't have any experience with Pivot Charts.
already passed that one, it is the second one
How do you enter a range into an argument in a function? (Choose 2)

Use the Insert Function dialog box and on the line where you enter the range, click on the collapse button, select the range and then click on the button again

Use the Insert Function dialog box and on the line where you enter the range just type in the range you want

Click on the range option and then select the range

Click on the Insert Tab and then click on the Range button
this confused the crap out of me earlier and here it is again
The top two?
Both seem legit.
I never use that dialog, i always type in the formulas
now that I tried to do it in excel, it makes sense....ugh!
Current calculated score 94.6%
Current knowledge state 91%
Current knowledge covered 100%
Last submitted calculated score
and all I needed was like a 70
Thank you @EBrown and @Phrancis
Pivot table and it's ranges node is still between 70-79% but it was starting to upset me, so I said screw it
seriously though, thank you guys!

I did ECDL at GCSE and remember thinking that was horribly irrelevant at the time, but this, this is just insane.
