Someone needs to write a userscript for one-click (or maybe two-click with confirmation) buttons (or keybindings or whatever) for any mod action. That includes a separate one for unclear, broad, opinion-based, and all the off-topic sub-reasons because I don't like going through menus

Don't suppose anyone here knows how to get the chat beep to activate from a script? I thought the following should work but didn't seem to: $("#jplayer").jPlayer("play");
Need to head off for a few minutes but it's odd - same doesn't work in IE either so maybe some odd codec issue with Win 10. Sounds in Unikong work fine so not like FF is muted anywhere.
Works in IE when I put http: at the front, but still not in FF
@404 Just tried that, and also found a web page that had a statically encoded beep in wave format that worked in IE but not FF. Also tried starting in safe mode and didn't make a difference. Anyway might give up for the moment and take a look at a later stage.
@404 Thanks for your help but worked out what it was, I'd turned off media.autoplay.enabled to stop crappy auto-play videos but I guess it also disables anything else like that when it's not the result of a button click.
@404 The spam waves for me often come about the time I'm cooking dinner so I wanted a way to run back from the kitchen, it's good exercise already ;). But there's only a few local media sites I use with the videos so can just block manually with an Adblocker and disable on the rare occasions I want to watch one.
