@Mat'sMug I had a similar error (in English) when running the unit tests in VS 2015.
I have no idea what <>c is, but switching to VS 2013 fixed it.

One fall afternoon, Java master Bawan heard that the monk Landhwa had been struggling with a straightforward data-extraction program. Intrigued, Bawan visited the monk, who was slouching low in his chair. “The program runs out of memory,” yawned Landhwa, who had no patience for such investigations. “True, it processes many large files, but it does so one at a time, and retains only the smal

Q: VBA Excel Sub runs really slow

Marco GetrostI'm trying to write this Sub, which updates a table of a (known) certain amount of columns but a uncertain amount of rows. I have values in the last row of the table and in the first column of the table which i need for the calculation. This is my code so far: (It works just runs really slow) S...

Candidate for migration @RubberDuck @Mat'sMug ?
feel free to custom-flag as such

Unless...

'@ignore ProcedureNotUsedInspection
Private Sub cmdEnterToday_Click()
presenter.EnterManualFigures
End Sub

Let's implement `'@ignore [inspection-name]` meta-instructions.

- At the top of a module, in the *declarations* section:

'@ignore [inspection-name]

Could be used
> hmm.. the annotation would actually need to go on top of the *declaration* - for procedures and parameters, yeah, it's the line above the signature.

But for variables and constants? Needs to be atop the declaration:

'@ignore VariableNotUsedInspection
Dim unusedVariable As Integer

Crap... I can't seem to get the unit tests to work from my work-laptop install of 1.4.3

Hey @Chrismas007!
Really great candidate until the answers started rolling in...
> The code that fetches the `HostApplication` instance does not return the actual *host* instance.

Repro:

- Open up Excel
- Start a new instance of Excel, load a macro-enabled workbook with Rubberduck unit tests
- Run all tests
- All tests are inconclusive / raise an error about macros not being enabled or test methods that can't be found.

The "host" instance is always only the first one to be opened. This is a problem.

> I find the `Inspection`-Suffix to be redundant...

Instead of requiring multiple `'@ignore` annotations for multiple inspections a comma-separated list may be more appropriate. For reference see Java's `@SuppressWarnings` which can be used like:

@SuppressWarnings("unused", "rawtypes")

That translates to:

'@ignore ProcedureNotUsed ParameterNotUsed
> We're using `Marshal.GetActiveObject` to get the host instance, which is only guaranteed to return **a** instance of the specified running program. This is indeed a problem. I'm searching for alternatives.

Next download is the 800th!
> Here's a possibility.

1. Fire up Two instances of excel and open the VBE.
2. Open the Task Manager
3. Right click the VBE instance and "Go to Process"
4. Note that the process is actually one of the two instances of Excel.

Based on this, we *can* in fact get to the correct host instance.

class Program
{

[DllImport("user32.dll")]
static extern int GetWindowThreadProcessId(int hWnd, out int lpdwProcessId);

static void Main(string[] args)
@RubberDuck Yea... unfortunate it isn't an official migration site yet.

Hi Mat, I just trying to implement some unit tests in ms-access with Rubberduck. I wish there was a simple example of how unit tests could be applied to a real procedure in the documentation (github.com/rubberduck-vba/Rubberduck/wiki/…). I understand the purpose of unit testing and how it works but it is not obvious to me how to fill the empty test procedure with testing code. Could you please provide such an example with proc code and test code.
Hi Mat, I think that you need to put a link in the documentation to a good introduction to the Arrange, Act, Assert pattern. It was new to me and I had no idea what it was about.
