> dont need help much with sql doe its easy as pie
I guess you could make pie out of doe, but you'd have to kill one first......
Then make a meat pie (traditional East Canada dish)

@Phrancis That doesn't sound very pleasant. Ethically, and physically.

@EthanBierlein I'm sure it's no fun for the doe.

@EthanBierlein I've heard venison is excellent, and there is nothing ethically wrong with killing a deer, so long as you have a license.

<dinner>

I hope you are a good shot, though, to minimize trauma for the doe.

2:05 AM
@Hosch250 I think I'd observe and make sure that the doe doesn't have any fauns before even thinking about killing it.

@EthanBierlein No need. No doe ever had fauns.

You don't really kill does, aren't those female? I thought you were supposed to kill only the males

Anyway, the hunting season is after the fawns are independent.
@Quill There are licenses for both.
And actually, in several places in the US, there are overpopulations of deer because they have no predators.

@Hosch250 Like here.

Oh, ok

2:07 AM
The liberals are busy giving them birth control and condoms.

Sorry I didn't mean to clutter the room with hunting stuff

All good @Phrancis

Ah, just nuke it if it is off topic, don't bother keeping it.

Wat

Donald Trump is going to be trumped by someone else.
I'll show myself out.
Hmm

Do you know any way to kill LXDE after I disconnect from a VNC server?

@Quill I try to stealth moreso :)
@IsmaelMiguel is there a reason you want to kill LXDE? Your first question should be "How do I launch LXDE when a VNC connection comes in?", not 'HOw do I kill LXDE after i disconnect"
(LXDE is also fairly light, so the logic/reasoning behind killing it at disconnect is fuzzy...)

@ThomasW. I know how to launch when I connect. I want it to die when I disconnect.

@ThomasW. I kind of like XFCE myself.

@EBrown CLI is superior to all. All hail CLI.

I want it to be as GUI-less as possible

4:13 PM
@ThomasW. Just like in Windows. ;)

But some stuff are easier on GUI

considering I find a GUI to be a security risk, esp. if you're leaving VNC open to connections, I'll have to hunt down an answer for you.

I tried to hunt and got nothing
Only how to start LXDE with VNC

@IsmaelMiguel fastest way to get an answer is to go to Unix and Linux or Ask Ubuntu (for Ubuntu specifically)

Fastest way it is

4:16 PM
@IsmaelMiguel you could maybe try and script it, every-minute cronjob that executes a script to check if there's a currently established connection to the VNC server

I have no idea on how to do that

and when there's not, kill -9 [pid of lxde master process]

I can't even set a damn static IP

static IP is simple

It fails on me

4:17 PM
@ThomasW. Tell that to CentOS 7.

Debian 8.2
Jessie
Next probably will be James

It was CentOS, not Debian for me.

And you have Team Rocket

@EBrown Well, that's CentOS, not Debian

@ThomasW. Yeah, my mistake.

4:19 PM
@IsmaelMiguel In /etc/network/interfaces: ...

@ThomasW. I'm using Debian and I used that way to specify a static IP but failed 100% of my tries

allow-hotplug IFNAME
iface IFNAME inet static
    address 192.168.1.10
    netmask 255.255.255.0
    gateway 192.168.1.1
    dns-nameserver 8.8.8.8
    dns-nameserver 8.8.4.4
    ...
hate the chat

@ThomasW. I had it like that

@ThomasW. We all do. ;)

@IsmaelMiguel then you reboot after

4:21 PM
It failed 100% of the times
Oh...

@IsmaelMiguel "failed 100% of the time" means nothing

I never reboot, I just restart the network daemon.

It wouldnt't ping

@IsmaelMiguel /etc/network/interfaces is usually at boot, or when you restart the network daemon

Or use ifdown ___, ifup ___.

4:21 PM
^ that too
which is what I do
sudo ifdown IFNAME; sudo ifup IFNAME

@ThomasW. I use su -.
Then just remain root forever.

usually I restart since the only stuff static IP'd on my network are network equipment, and/or VMs

sudo -s is 'better'.

@TopinFrassi wait, you're in Quebec too?!

Yeah!
Near Montreal

I work in Montreal

That's pretty crazy! Where?

@TopinFrassi I work on Avenue du Parc, near Jean-Talon

Good idea
Lemme check google map one second! :p
I study at the ETS, but I'm in intership atm

5:42 PM
eh, I was in a Technique Informatique program in 2000, ...I'm a CEGEP drop-out (Montmorency)

Well, as long as you can find decent work! I did Cegep at Edouard Montpetit in Longueuil
I'm from Boucherville, on the south shore

my sister is in Longueuil.. I'm in St-Eustache, north shore :)

Small world! What company do you work for?
St-Eustache seems like the other side of the world considering the trafic :p

Samuelsohn ltd. they make high-end suits
haha totally

That's cool! I'm in Varennes for my internship, in an R&D place for Ressource Naturelle Canada
There are some pretty cool development events in montreal. Did you ever heard of the .Net Montreal meet up group?

5:51 PM
I think I went once. There was this guy talking about XAML and how WPF is the future of GUI development
he owns xamalot.com, a XAML resource site

He wasn't wrong I think :p WPF is the thing.
The time I went, peoples talked about so many possible architectures for different kind of applications, different new frameworks. All sort of crazy things

IIRC it was some "State of .NET" thing - that was some 6 years ago

6 years ago I didn't even think I'd be studying computer sciences.. :p

shit, I'm old

Or I'm young, your pick!
