Distributor in Dallas, TX is another friend of mine, victim of targeted FB evangelism.

Nice to make some inroads there, then!

New partial draft (probably the last partial one): Days_of_Awe-Mi_Yodeya_5776_v0.0.6 .DOCX / .PDF
Still missing: 11 questions in YK; Introduction; Credits; Tweaks to make pagination nicer; Replacing all straight "s with smart ones that curl the right way.
Per @Scimonster's suggestion, this one does not start a new page with each H2. See what you think.
The tweaks I mention will result in some changes in pagination, so please continue to hold on style/grammar notes.
Also, I changed the pagination to start with 1 at the ToC instead of (hidden, but) at the cover. So, the cover and Intro are before the pages start. What do you think of that?
Page number to be removed from the back cover

@MonicaCellio, for the Donors part of the credits, should I assume that whatever people put as their public name on their Jewcer donation is what belongs in the credits, and that donations listed as Anonymous will not be getting individual recognition?

1:58 PM
@IsaacMoses I like it.
Just skimming through right now... Noticed that "Why Jeremiah 31 on Rosh Hashana?" (p.10) still has a footnote #1 for the original question in the body.
Also italicize Megillah there.
p12 remove "{Free translation}"

@Scimonster Oops. I knew I'd miss some of those. I'm planning to do a global search for :1 when I've finished importing.
@Scimonster I'll change it to (My free translation) under the quotation, or maybe make that and similar notes elsewhere into footnotes

I know pagination will change, but one place to make sure it gets fixed is with "Significance of “Shema Yisrael”", where it has a verse and translation separated by a pagebreak.

... It's good to note the provenance of a translation

@IsaacMoses Perhaps, but it's not like we do it in every place.
Also, "mine" can be kind of ambiguous here.

@Scimonster True. I'll check the original post to make sure that it came from the named OP
@Scimonster That'll get fixed when I fix the orphaned question-end at the top of that page, and the one at the top of the previous page
@Scimonster I see that I missed some right-justifications on that and the previous page (Alenu question)

2:07 PM
"Do I have to forgive a repeat offender?" (p26) has footnote 2, (no #1), but no footnotes section. I feel like there might have been a third there too.
Style and formatting looks good! Content criticism will come after the full draft. :)

@Scimonster Just the one
@Scimonster Thanks!

@IsaacMoses yes, that's what I've been assuming. We should note the existence of anonymous donors but we don't need to enumerate them. Also, one tweak: that donation from the "morning minyan" was me talking about the project and a few people handing me money; I knew it would show up on Jewcer as coming from Mi Yodeya so I labelled it instead of going anon and making people wonder about propriety, but let's treat that as anon in the book. Nobody has given me permission to speak for the minyan.

@MonicaCellio OK. Noted. Thanks. "... and several anonymous donors." will likely conclude that section.

@IsaacMoses sounds good.

Anyone want to try writing an actual introduction? I thought about doing it, but started out with writers' block, which didn't get any better...

@Scimonster Where to do it, with helpful, bare-bones outline for reference:

Q: "Days of Awe - Mi Yodeya?" front- and back-matter

Isaac MosesEach answer to this post should contain one of the following supplementary materials for Days of Awe - Mi Yodeya?: Introduction Glossary The glossary should contain translations of all non-English terms that some of our readers may not be familiar with. It should also contain basic biographical...

@IsaacMoses Yes, i know. I got writer's block even while looking at it.

@Scimonster That link was more for others' benefit :)
@Scimonster I wrote that outline in a fit of writer's block. I couldn't think of an opening hook that sounded right to me.
