About six months ago, I've asked a question to which an user replied with a comment which was intended as an answer, but wasn't mathematically correct.
After he was told so, he concluded that I (it was I who asked the question) was being stubborn and unwilling to admit that my reasoning was wron...
How helpful are the "complain about downvotes on posts" to moderators, in finding or catching people who are "voting incorrectly"? It seems like most of the time, when something actually reaches some level of voting abuse you guys are already on top of it or the system corrects it. The other times the answer is just to deal with it, people can vote how they want, and the poster is make unwarranted assumptions about the downvotes.
(If you can't tell I am sort of tired of these questions, maybe it is the lack of caffeine which is making me a bit grumpy..)
@Alen I was not speaking to you or your question. If you search "downvotes" though there are a ton of answers to these sorts of questions, that basically revolve around the same thing. I am just asking the moderators if they find these questions valuable for their "job", and maybe if they don't it should be considered to make posting these types of questions frowned upon without a decent amount of evidence that they are malicious and waiting a couple days to see if the votes get pulled .
I'd like to add tnat my issue is specifically with the user mentioned, not the downvoting part. Some answers I've seen that s/he has provided, including one to my own question,
Were pretty good
But there were also a few which were dismissive or just plain wrong
Being wrong is fine, but being malicious when someone points it out when hoping to help improve an answer is not
At least for me
But, it just could have been my imagination :P
Or I am biased
That's whyI'd be grateful if someone impartial looked over it
