@MadaraUchiha: Is it a good idea to close this? anime.stackexchange.com/questions/21138/…
I can see where you come from, since the question is binary "But will they really go back without Eren? or will they come back for him?" and is uninteresting. However, Under the current rule, there is nothing saying that they should be closed

@nhahtdh The question asks about something that's going to happen in the future.
It amounts to the same question as "Will Eren and Misaka marry in the end of AoT?"

IIRC, there are a bunch of question in AoT which asks about Eren's father and stuffs that can only be answered when more chapters are released

It can't be reasonably answered.
@nhahtdh There's a bit of a difference
There are legitimate questions that can be asked and the answer being "We don't know yet"
And there are questions that by definition cannot be answered because they ask about something that will (or will not) happen in the future.

I think it's reasonable, but it needs to be codified into rule or something
(Can we move this whole convo to "Meta" room?)

Currently, there is no rule about this
We don't want folks to start closing questions randomly based on your closure

Hiya Meta!
Ohhh, I didn't see the tag... sorry..

1:20 PM
@JNat Can you work out with the top brass regarding H content?

2:16 PM
@MadaraUchiha usually aren't these questions closed because of production things
like 'will AoT have a second season'
"with regard to the production of an anime or manga "
Is it not reasonable to say "We don't know yet"
and come back to it later?

@ToshinouKyouko I've reopened, because there seem to be disagreement over it.
Do as you wish with it. (Answer, vote to close, etc)

i'm not a particularly big fan of those kinda questions anyway, I just like consistentcy

^Ditto. That's also my point when I brought this up earlier. If you make a meta post to discuss about this issue, then we can hash it out and maybe add a rule about it

3:14 PM
There's this but it doesn't really hit what's being discussed here:

3:25 PM
Yeah, we decided a while back that asking questions about future in-universe events is okay.

Q: Should questions that are unanswerable until later (unaired) episodes/chapters be allowed?

MysticialShould we allow questions of the type: Currently airing show or manga. The question is unanswerable as of all the released episodes/chapters. The question is likely to be revealed later on. Because these questions are temporarily unanswerable, they may be considered "not constructive" as they...

3:36 PM
@Unihedron That one is about "When is series X going to have another season?"
"Or when is series Y out of hiatus?"
Though it allows "Why is series Y on hiatus"
Or the question about future events in the manga

4:27 PM
@nhahtdh On what exactly?

@JNat Explicit, borderline, NSFW content

I'm gonna leave right now, so it's not a good time to start discussing this. But I had the impression we were settled on this matter.

@JNat I can't quite remember, but I think it was not clear last time the issue was escalated

I thought it was settled also
have we even made a concrete decision on the original existental questions :P

@ToshinouKyouko I some what agree with what Eric proposed
Though I'm not sure about the rest
@ToshinouKyouko That's on our side, though

4:34 PM
It's good and all to have these chats, but I feel they're kinda going nowhere if we don't make meta posts or know for sure that they're gonna go into the revamped rules

Agreed

I gotta head too o/

My impression is that Krazer got an idea of it, and that we shouldn't ban all existential questions (especially if they're good) because after all, we're an entertainment site, so the most important point is to have fun.

5:31 PM
We're waiting on Krazer to write out a policy on this.
Once he does, we can discuss whether he's accurately conveyed the community's idea of how these questions should be handled.
If so, it will become our official policy. If not, we'll tweak it or, worst case, redo it entirely.

(Just dropping in to say that I feel the review process doesn't work, it seems that people just love to clear the queue quickly, while the post needs editing. Now how am I supposed to push a post into queue for other people to edit? Flagging a half-good post will push it into queue, but the flag may get rejected. Edit it myself? If I could, then I would have done it.)
(If you think the post should be edited, then please click on Skip if you can't edit it yourself.)

The review queue is severely broken and SE's repeated attempts to fix it have not worked. There is literally no way to get items to queue at will, and people will always dismiss them because it goes toward badge counts.
