@TRiG So the OP says:
> I think this is purely about the usage of an English pronoun.
What!?
@AndrewLeach I think that question could be made into an overview question: meta.christianity.stackexchange.com/questions/3795/…
I doubt the OP is going to come to C.SE to bother with it though.
See above to TRiG

@AndrewLeach Which post was that? I'll take a second look at it if you post the link here or flag it.

Q: How should we refer to the Christian God: she, it or they?

ivanhoescottIn this age of “Political Correctness”, it seems that many people now frown upon the use of he as a gender-neutral pronoun with which to refer to the Christian God, though it was universally used for centuries before the women’s liberation movement of the 1960s. Julian of Norwich and Hildegard of...

It helps when the title isn't a "Truth" question. The body was on-topic, the title wasn't. Fixed and re-opened.

2:38 AM
@DavidStratton Is it locked until a certain time has passed?

2:53 AM
@fredsbendtheGrinch No... I didn't see that it was locked. It's unlocked now.

Is anyone else having trouble understanding things after the Charlie Hedbo shooting?
@fredsbendtheGrinch: Can anyone give us answers?

3:27 AM
@JimG. 'things' Jim?

3:38 AM
@bruisedreed: Life is so fragile and fleeting. And yet three people go out of their way to execute people over a cartoon?!

@JimG. I doubt that the fact that such evil could exist within the hearts of men is much of a surprise to anyone who reads their bible and believes it. Much less would it be a surprise to anyone who has followed the news more recently regarding the actions of various Islamist militants - this is by no means the worst example of human depravity even in the last month.

@JimG. People kill for just about anything. I read about Servetus recently. He was killed merely because he did not believe Jesus was God.
I am unfamiliar with this Hedbo shooting thing.
I don't watch the news. Family and work keeps me pretty busy.
That and SE ;)

Q: Could we help each other through chat in the next few days?

Jim G.What did Jesus teach about the 1st Commandment? @Caleb closed the above question. He may have had some legitimate reasons. I'd like my question to be reopened, but I'll leave that one for now. In the meantime, I was wondering: Could we help each other through chat in the next few days? M...

Q: Name of book where Christ returns as a woman, it starts with a meteor strike in Israel

Tony WisemanMeteor strike in Israel on a secret government facility and a woman survives. Later on she performs miracles and is eventually murdered and ambiguously rises. The story is told from the point of view of a reporter who eventually becomes the chronicler of her story. Follows the New Testament, mira...

@JimG. Could you be a little bit more specific about the type of help you and others trying to make sense of this event are looking for? Is it to understand the motivations of the people involved? Is it to try and understand why God would let something like this happen? Is it to consider what might be a valid response to such things? I read the question you asked that was closed, but I'm still none the wiser...

@JimG. re what would Jesus say: biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke+13%3A1-5&version=NIV - in response to hearing of an atrocity (Pilate mingling the blood of some Galileans with their sacrifces) and a disaster (the tower of Siloam falling and killing 18), his response (reminiscent of the Lord's non-answers to Job) was not to explain the 'whys', but to address the primary importance of where his listeners stood in relation to God
(as sinners in urgent need of repenting and receiving the grace of God)

I've just noticed Malachi 3:1 and Haggai 2:9. I've read them before but didn't really notice them. They seem pretty clear they're referencing Jesus.

6:51 AM
@DavidStratton Thanks. Sorry about the title.
@fredsbendtheGrinch Possibly. Perhaps there should be an overview tag rather than trying to shoe-horn the word "overview" into the question?

Thanks for the swift reply. Could you add the church, protestant-church, catholic-church, jesus, crusades, and bible tags to the ones that Ask Elisha (History) recognizes? — Mr. Bultitude 10 hours ago
Done. Also added .
