8:00 AM
@MichaelMrozek sounds odd; I'll look into it...

8:18 AM
Hello from Opera Mobile!
The login button from the Gaming homepage didn't work for me.
The type in the URL method did, however.
@marc Thank you :D

You're welcome.
So; what happened with the login button on the homepage?
(do you mean the regular login button? or do you mean the "or you can login via gaming.stackexchange.com" that appears from the top of the page if the referer is gaming.stackexchange.com?)

It got me to the chat.se homepage as intended, with a login button
The login button there brought me to the login diagnostics page.
That page complained about local storage, so I was back to square one.

I then went and typed out the full /users url and it got me to an empty page with a login button.

yes, it is kinda ghetto ;p
but hey! it worked. Kinda happy w/ that.

8:25 AM
I didn't quite notice that link

saves you some typing
I'll add some <blink>...

but the ghetto stuff worked, so I didn't mind.
I probably might as well bookmark that page.

it would be easier to just go to gaming and click "chat"
(assuming that route works on Opera Mobile)

I'll try it now.
Do you want me to log out however?
...which may be challenging...
It's so cute to watch full chat load on my mobile. Everything happens in slo-mo..
it's still expanding user avatars for monologues right now.
no logout button tho. oh well.
visiting chat.stackexchange.com/logout logged out me not.

logged out me not? odd... it should... lemme check that...

8:39 AM
I did get the welcome blurb.
then went on Gaming, tapped chat
...and I was already logged in.

odd; I'll look some more, but I just did that loop in chrome and it behaved as I would expect
(needed to click the ghetto button)
(chrome with localstorage disabled, I mean)

could it be that the welcome blurb hit a logout button/link?

I don't think so; all the welcome blurb does is set a cheeky cookie ;p

later, train arrived

9:04 AM
back here at uni. Now struggling to have the emulator use the proxy <_<
Using mobile connection instead <_<
@MarcGravell Just confirmed that you do not get that message.

how odd
it must not be sending a referer. Or something like that.

I've taken a video, if dropbox started cooperating...
@MarcGravell What referrers are you looking for?
I thought you mainly/only had IE7 in mind.
umpf. Stupid compositing.

9:21 AM
http referer header - if we are coming from an SE site, we offer a link back to said SE site for the ghetto login

whoops. I thought you meant "user agent string."
Well, the bits that matter are visible there.
Next time I'll need to recall taking metacity or whatever it is down beforehand.
For now, I have a lesson in 7 minutes. Later.

ogv is a PITA ;p
(lots of video mess)
ah, I see - the mobile interface. Yes, you are right: that doesn't support that at the moment. My bad.

Q: Are we stepping on D&DI's toes?

IsziI recently came across a question that got me thinking. This question in particular is quite easily answered with a D&DI subscription, by searching through the online Compendium. It's asking for an item with a specific bonus attached. There's been other questions that we have answered by p...

I expect that'll be SF and SU redirecting to SE. Must kill that.
