@Undo ... hmm?
The reviews?
That's been there for a week+. :P

Anyone have an idea why this is happening?
I wanted to center edit cards, but for some reason it centered the inputs too.
  <div id="inputFields"><span class="ion-chevron-right 3"></span> <h4 class="header">edit cards</h4><br>
      <div id="inputs">
          <form id="form-inputs">
              <br>Question: <input class="input" type="text"> Answer: <input class="input" type="text">
              <br>Question: <input class="input" type="text"> Answer: <input class="input" type="text">
              <br>Question: <input class="input" type="text"> Answer: <input class="input" type="text">
          </form>
      </div>
#inputFields {
    display: -webkit-box;
    -webkit-box-pack: center;
    -webkit-box-align: start;
}
I've tried playing around with it, but I'm lost now.

@Seth Try this: <h4 class="header middle">edit cards</h4><br>, and:
.middle {
    display: -webkit-box;
    -webkit-box-pack: center;
    -webkit-box-align: start;
}

@hichris What method would you use for PDO? http://www.php.net/pdo.prepared-statements
@Seth lol

12:09 AM
@AnnonomusPerson What do you mean by method?

@hichris123 I mean like inline vs. using a ? vs. bindparam, etc.

@AnnonomusPerson ? for sure. That's called a prepared statement, which is the heart of protecting against SQL injection.

Okay... that's what I though.

@hichris123 That didn't work at all, nothing is centered :(

Gets annoyed with animated GIF....

12:12 AM
@Seth :(
creates JS fiddle

hmm. that's text align. Might work.
nope.

Aww, really? :(

well sorta actually
@hichris123 jsfiddle.net/AncS2/1 it's better, but not quite what I wanted.

@hichris123 lol. I saw votes and promptly freaked out and pinged Shog :P

Might have to settle for either three spans that contain everything or just use a table @Seth.

12:23 AM
@Undo ... hmm?

Tables aren't as bad as some people say: just don't use them for you main navigation of your site AND the navigation bar AND the sidebar...

There's a Votes table public SEDE :P

@Undo SEDE = Data explorer?

@Undo Hasn't that always been there?

oh, and @hichris123 you as a normal user now get to find out which mods activated/deactivated which off-topic close reasons :P
@AnnonomusPerson yeah

12:24 AM
@Undo Mostly Shog.

@Undo Ahh...

1:21 AM
PDO isn't working :(

error?

No just not working.
$connection=new PDO("mysql:host=localhost;dbname=db", "admin", "battery_staple");
$user=$_POST["username"];
$pass=$_POST["password"];
$user_query=$connection->prepare("SELECT * FROM login WHERE email = ?");
$user_query->execute(array($user));
if ($user_query->rowCount==0) {
    echo("HI!");
}
The credentials are right...
thx

@AnnonomusPerson What's your db name?

@AnnonomusPerson ... you just let out your credentials. Delete that message now.

I changed it for here.... but it's right in my code.
@hichris123 I changed them
And those would be the worst credentials ever :P

1:25 AM
Ah, okay. :P

And I'm not that dumb to use a xkcd password that's probably the 26th most used password :D
@hichris does that code look like it has any issues?
It's not pulling out any values from the db... do you think it's one of those "start on 0" things like used with arrays?

@AnnonomusPerson Shouldn't it be if ($user_query->rowCount > 0) {?

@hichris123 It's just a snippet of my code. There's a part lower down that deals with that } elseif ($user_query->rowCount==1) {
There's a valid entry in my db, but it always calls the one for username not found.

Ah, hmm... dunno.

11 hours later…
@Undo hey, been busy for a while, what's the current status of Blaze and things? :)

Well, Blaze does that ^ and that's about it.

heh

1 hour later…
1:41 PM

Earth Science

Proposed Q&A site for those interested in the geology, meteorology, oceanography, and environmental sciences.

Currently in commitment.

@hichris123 ^

2:25 PM
Ooh, yay!

:D

2:42 PM
@Undo Hello, I'm back exactly 24 hours later

Hi!

@Undo I have got into the TL with the daring button click
Ok here is the proof- It lets me go in and says - You have requested access to this room; please be patient while the room owners process your request.

3:00 PM
@AwalGarg Nope. You just requested access.
@AwalGarg what's it say now?

Holy shit, you are already in, right
?
And you disaccepted it, right?

Right

You played a game

You have to get in and see what we're saying without someone granting you access :P

this isn't a good thing
I did earlier thought that you must already be in
damn shit
But, no confirms
Ok, I did the evil thing again
Is there a limit to number of requests
?

3:03 PM
Don't use that button :P
it won't work, trust me.

Ofcourse, there is a guy whose username is Undo and he would always make me fail

@Undo :(

Use your time to poke at the chat API, not press a button which never works :P

Pressing the evil button is far easier
So, whats the criteria to get in?

Need diamond.

3:05 PM
@Undo I'm PDO'ifying Charcoal. We'll see what I bork. :P

Or find a back door and get in that way.
@hichris123 good luck :D

You don't have a diamond, do you?

yeah

The one that is in front of your username
yeah, you have i
t

3:07 PM
@Undo I'm pretty sure I'm going to bork something. Because at least twice I've left out a ; or spelled flags as flag. :P

hehe

Ok, I have a deal for you, I will upvote any one question or answer of yours and you let me in

rofl

Uhmmm....

Or give me your diamond

3:08 PM
errrr...
It... doesn't work that way.

Or give me your diamond!

You are not aware of my powers, I warn you
I am omnipowerful

... uhhh...
okay...

3:31 PM
I am back and I would leave now, cos I got to do some work. I know all my fans would miss me, but, I promise I will come back. And you know, I never, EVER break promises. And when I say something, I mean it. OK

;)

Well, I forgot to say, no need of claps

^ My local diff right now.

@hichris123 what UI is that?

@Undo GitHub for Windows.

3:35 PM
ah

Oh, @Undo after I finish all of this I'm going to switch stuff over to the Bootstrap CDN.

yay!

... this is going to be a huge commit.

hehe

And posts.php has basically all of the index.php code.
Can I remove that?

3:36 PM
if it doesn't break anything, sure

Or just keep it in?

You have a way of testing locally, right?

@Undo Once I set it up. Oh right, you did give me the backup... give me a sec.

Ok, now I am serious. I have something to add
Recently (like a minute ago) I was on The Ink Spot
And I got the idea of echos in chat rooms
Any user says something and a script echoes it back
like this> Echo: Any user says something and a script echoes it back

50.7% done @Undo.
@AwalGarg Hmm, what would you use it for?

3:49 PM
@hichris123 Annoying people for half an hour
Mildly
So, is anyone taking this on?

4:03 PM
@Undo around?

yeah

What version of PHP do you use on EC2?

looks
$ php --version
PHP 5.4.9-4ubuntu2.4 (cli) (built: Dec 12 2013 04:29:20)
Copyright (c) 1997-2012 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v2.4.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2012 Zend Technologies
(this is on the Charcoal server)

That makes a lot of sense.
How'd you install it?

can't remember
IIRC it wasn't very fun

4:10 PM
I'm getting syntax errors since I'm only on 5.3. :(

what OS?

Ubuntu.
          protected $info = [];
^ That line.
I fed it into a syntax checker, too. Turns out it only happens on 5.3 and below.

Q: How do I install latest PHP in supported Ubuntu versions (like 5.4.x in Ubuntu 12.04)?

kavisiegelI am trying to update to php 5.4 in Ubuntu 12.04, and I can only get 5.3.6 using official repositories (using apt-get). I'm not really sure how to do a manual update – I'm sorta new to ubuntu, but I need to play around with the new php features!

you need a ppa :(

Hmm, @Undo would you mind me committing, pulling to dev and probably borking a few things?

go for it

4:14 PM
After I finish a few things up. :P

er...
Ooh, yay!
I didn't bork that much! :D

:D

5:05 PM
@Undo around? Can you play with dev and see if I borked anything else & I didn't fix it?

not atm

k, whenever.

2 hours later…
7:01 PM
@hichris123 ^ The weirdest thing I've seen as a mod so far :P

> This question appears to be off topic because trees.
^ That would have been better @Undo.

hehe
I want to maintain some resemblance of professionality, though :P
(also, how did that live half an hour without getting one close vote?)
stares at flag queue in despair

@Undo Weird.

7:18 PM
sigh Yet another weird chatflag.

@Undo Since you're bored... go bork Charcoal! :P

But WWDC app!
must... finish...

2 hours later…
9:04 PM
This is probably really simple, but I'm not sure how to achieve it:

Q: How can I align a div at the edge of a div above it when said div is using automatic positioning?

SethI have a <div>: <div id="placeHolder" class="card"><h1> A title!</h1><p>Some text!</p> </div> and a second <div> containing some text and a <form>: <div id="inputFields"><h4 class="header middle">edit</h4> <div id="inputs"> <form id="form-inputs"><br> La...

(it probably also stems from my lack of CSS knowledge)
@Undo I'm missing all of those :(
Speaking of that, the game dev room is just weird.
I'm not sure whether it's worse than the bridge or not...
