Writing exercise, "It was all a dream"

I was having trouble focusing. The light streaming in from the window made the room look cheery and bright, but I felt groggy and grey. The yellow and green walls of my room were glowing with sunlight and warmth, but images of a sheer cliff and a rock face stayed in my mind.

I sat up, pushing the blankets aside.

There was something from the dream... something about walking through a dark forest, on a rough trail that ended in midair. I had the urge to keep walking, and had to fight it. In the dream, I had images of what it would be like to fall dow…
