@TRiG It's one thing to edit an assertion about the omisignificance of experience despite disagreeing with it, but enforcing this silly rule for its silly followers really goes above and beyond the call of duty.
@TRiG This particular commentary's gloss is conventionally printed interspersed with the text it's a gloss on, but in a different font.
@MonicaCellio Wow! I really had no idea I was speaking Yeshivish that time. This is not the first time TRiG caught me unconsciously drifting into that dialect. Which is actually a little surprising to me, as my background is not particularly "yeshivish."
@MonicaCellio I disapprove as well, to the point of writing a term paper for a college "Writing the Essay" course on why this rule is bad. Still, I follow it except in cases where it misleads, as, as you point out, in specifying a string literal whose exact contents are of technical significance.
@TRiG How'd your speech go?
@TRiG Once again, thank you very much for all your help. I've incorporated or at least considered all of your notes.

@IsaacMoses I didn't have a speech to give last night. I had to evaluate someone else's speech. Also, the club president couldn't make it, so I had to stand in for her: This means sitting at the top table for the whole meeting, and saying something inspirational at the beginning of the meeting and something encouraging at the end.
That's why I was looking up the 6th of March on Wikipedia, and found the European Day of the Righteous, which I mentioned in V. Bam.
@IsaacMoses well, I said "here and..." because I'm not prepared to say it's only yeshivish. I don't have a lot of yeshivish exposure, so it would be easy for me to mis-attribute based on too-few examples. To the extent that I've noticed who says it here, it seems to mainly come from people with what I perceive to be that background. But, again, assumptions can get one in trouble...
@IsaacMoses and I reject the silly rule unless compelled (e.g. by a house style guide, and I can't write around the problem by rephrasing).
@MonicaCellio I started writing it tongue-in-cheek and over -emphasized, but then I thought that people might think it was another instance of us being all cautionary. So I mixed it up a little.
BTW, as always, if you see room for improvement in the landing page, please feel free to edit.
@IsaacMoses :-) Thanks again to you, @TRiG, @msh210, @BabySeal, and MotherMoses for all the work this week, and everybody else who asked, answered, and compiled the questions! I am looking forward to spreading Purim joy around Pittsburgh.
