@Rarst what is easiest way to make a temp/dump file in phpstorm? example: i want to paste someone's work and enjoy the IDE, and later abandon it - but it forces me to save the file first. must i create and then just delete? do you keep a "garbage" project around for such occasions?

@GhostToast you need file, it auto-saves. can drag and drop file from oustide of the project though for "external" edits

@tf why did you approve this suggestion from @marutimohanty? Misusing back ticks is not acceptable.

@toscho Well, sorry, I obviously didn't have a close enough look at this one. I (mis)interpreted the overriding-parent-theme-sub-files-with-a-child-theme-how as a folder/directory - for which using back ticks would have been acceptable.

@tf OK. Keep an eye on back ticks. If they are not used properly, the search operator code: will be useless on our site.

t f
@toscho Will do.

i've made a shortcode to show a kind of gallery of featured images, what happens though is that the last image of my gallery will suddenly appear as the featured image of the page. the edit link als links to the last item in the shortcode gallery. here's a gist if anyone wants to have a look gist.github.com/johan010/827788c69be9a4ffdf87
might just make a post for that :)

add_action(‘woocommerce_order_status_completed’,array(&$this,’insert_points’));

Surprise, surprise …

1:15 PM
got it btw. wp_reset_query();

Silverstripe Framework. They got a CMS built on top of it as well. PHP 5.3+ and available on their GitHub account.

what about it?

not much. I was on the PHP Vienna MeetUp yesterday and they have one of their core devs talking about it next time. just read source. wasn't impressed.

1:59 PM
I work on a project that uses ss
my plan is to migrate it to wp..
the code is not bad per se, but it still a pain for financial reasons

financial reasons? hard to maintain?

ya maintain, we are tied to the developer who built it, update it costs a lot, its somewhat slow

job security :)

and the admin is pretty ugly
we are actually updating versions and its one week of dev hours
current version is a memory hog
like the template language and code is good, but why bother with all the trouble

2:16 PM
.ss anyway is kind of an awful name for a templating system.

in it's defense its more flexible than wp, its more frameworky

@kaiser yes.
@Wyck google "ss"

pretty sure I know what will show up

yea but we want the NSA to log your activity too, so just google it please

ok but I combine it with "kaiser"
actually that ends up being a boat
the "ss kaiser"

2:33 PM
hehe

2:45 PM
Look at the source code of mu_dropdown_languages():
Line 569: // American English
Line 573: // British English
Line 584: // WordPress english
Suddenly everything makes sense

@Wyck U.S. boats get the "USS" treatment. USS Arizona, etc

they put the U in SS

united states ship
vs Service Ship?
england gets HMS - Her Majesties Ship, presumably

@toscho you know what's funny with language plugins, I always have to remove the flags, french people here do not like the french flag to represent them, and english people don't want the US or British flag

@Wyck we discourage the use of flags for languages, but we have to include them for backwards compatibility. :/
… and you can use a custom flag, of course

2:52 PM
@toscho With your pro version I can connect CPT's (multisite) that are already made correct?
oh the french flag here looks awful when it's small, it's impossible for it to look good

@Wyck I am sitting exactly on this feature right now
flag settings

ah cool, the maple leaf looks alright, the fleur de lys not so much

@Wyck do you have a pro version?

@toscho No I have not tried it yet but i'm working on a multi site with CPTs and was wondering
not there yet, maybe in 2-3 weeks

@Wyck If you promise to test our pre-releases regularly, I can give you a pro license. That’s also the best way to make sure that an update doesn’t change a feature you need. :)

2:59 PM
@toscho Sure that would be great, all our sites are 2 languages and I'm not a fan of wpml
this is the first multisite route I am going and it reduces my stress
you can email it to bob.ellison at gmail.com, but it will be 2 weeks or so before I really start using it

@toscho If you want another tester, that has a large scale Multisite, multi language app, let me know :)

OK, will do. :) The next version will be out then.

Why do I get a missing label warning in PHPStorm here?

<?php echo $this->key; ?>>

probably fails to grok name as php code

@toscho quick question - which charset should I set Mustache to in WP environment?
as in it's stored... somewhere?

4:17 PM
get_bloginfo( 'charset' ) seems to be it

4:32 PM
@WordPressVIP @Dilbert_Daily Could you draw some Dilbert comics for me while I try to figure out your user interface?

4:56 PM
@kaiser @kaiser Yes you are correct. Like I was suggested I got to give a valid reason to support for argument to create a tag name called 'login-redirect'. So I wasn't prepared at that time. But glad, you had your eye on it.

Two weeks ago, we announced the public launch of Stack Overflow in Portuguese, our first-ever non-English Stack Overflow community. Which raises one very obvious question:

Have we lost our minds?

Wasn’t the whole point of Stack Overflow to aggregate as much developer knowledge as possible in one place? To get all the potential solutions together, and provide one canonical set of answers?

We are aware that, “Let’s all try speaking different languages!” hasn’t always worked out for the best. …

Posts created via cron having HTML stripped from the post title is a thing right? I could have sworn there was a Q. on it... Don't want to have to wade through the WordPress' sanitisation spaghetti to work it out :/...
That was easy. I found a meatball in the spaghetti. kses_init() calls kses_init_filters() if you can't post unfiltered HTML and that adds a kses function to the title_save_prefilter...

oh man, I asked a question on SO with no answer and got an email now from Wizpert if I need further help^^
Is this their business model?^^

barf

@Sven did they try to sell something?

No, they were clever enough to just promote their site ;)
> Just wondering if you ever got this question answered. If not, maybe a brief chat with a Html wizpert could help: link wizpert.com/htmlchat.

dammit :D

Best part is the email signature:
> We're the world's most helpful community!
;)

8:37 PM
still self-promotion

I was going to google "is wizpert free" -- Google's suggestion as I typed was: "is wizpert a hoax"

xD
Seems as if the first questions is free ;)

they should chat with a SEO expert

this guy was approached to be a "paid expert"

8:42 PM
Sounds like a simple way to contact @Rarst per Skype. Just ask for a WooCommerce expert.

why doesn't this meta_query work?
'meta_query' => array(
	array(
		'key' => '_cmb_meeting_date',
		'value' => array(1360792301, 1392328302),
		'compare' => 'BETWEEN',
		'type' => 'numeric'
	),
)

the extra comma. i've run into this before. fails so quietly. array(array($stuff),) is wrong-bad
