Does anyone have a decent answer or edit to make this more on-topic?

Q: How to build an iPad app without an Apple device?

GeotargetI am an experienced PC/mobile app developer but so far I only possess an Android device and a Windows/Unix PC. I could install Mac OS X on a PC (Hackintosh) if needed. Is there any way I can build an iPad app without a physical iPad/iPhone device? Are there emulators on the PC/MacOSX side that I...

The trivial answer, is have at it. Use Adobe's software to make whatever app you want.
Also, a trivial dismissal is - please ask about emulation / hackintosh elsewhere.
I'm wondering if it could be useful / non-duplicate of the other questions we have on what's really needed to develop from a high level - iTunes connect aspect which is on topic (or on how to install a non-Xcode build) on a device...

The sensible answer is you need to use Xcode to get access to the simulators. Ergo, do what you need to run OSX on somethibg. think he answered his own Q

@mcandre re your question How can I hide file tags? … maybe experiment with a novel tag applied to a file in an encrypted disk image. After detachment of the image, does that tag remain in the Finder view of the tag cloud?

Hi, I have a question which I don't think fits the SE format so I thought I would pose it here. I've a MacBook Pro 5,3 (2.66GHz, 8GB RAM, 256MB 9600M GT) with Mountain Lion and I consider upgrading to Mavericks. I've read countless reviews stating various things. Some say it's a speed up, others say everything got slower. However most reviews use newer systems, I haven't seen anyone yet review this on a MBP5,3.
I was wondering if anyone here has upgraded a MBP from that era (around 2009) and if the experience was positive in terms of performance. I'm not talking about 3rd program compatibility/performance, just if using the OS and the built-in programs was faster/slower/the same. Thank you in advance for your help!
