Oh right -- you can schedule far in advance (not just a few days)! I've been trying to focus on immediately-relevant but I don't need to. Cool. :-)

Q: Is the Book of Life ever really sealed?

HodofHodIn davening and in greetings, we always refer to the "sealing" of the Book of Life. כתיבה וחתימה טובה1 we say; בראש השנה יכתבון וביום צום כיפורים יחתמון2 we pray. Wikipedia says: The High Holidays are times that are especially conducive to teshuva. Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement) is a d...

Q: Do I have to forgive a repeat offender?

Monica CellioIf somebody has repeatedly wronged me (in the same way) in the past, am I obligated to keep forgiving him if he asks? On the one hand, maybe this time he finally is really doing teshuva; on the other hand, there's a track record. What happens if I decline? I'm not asking for a ruling, of cours...

Q: Why doesn't Tefilat Geshem have a verse referring to Miriam?

Isaac MosesThe "Tefilat Geshem" ("Prayer for Rain") recited on Shemini 'Atzeret contains six verses. Each verse refers to a different person (except the last, which refers to a nation) and makes various allusions to that person's interactions with water found in the Torah and Midrash, with the prominent rep...

Q: What's up with this strange new hechsher?

Isaac MosesAll of a sudden, I’ve seen the hechsher shown in these photos popping up on various products. I’ve never seen it before, and I don’t see it listed on any of the usual online hechsher lists. Have you seen this mark on any products? (Pics please, if you have!) Do you know anything about who’s ...

@IsaacMoses thanks for tweeing my new daf-yomi question!

@MonicaCellio Wow. I'd missed that one; thanks for bringing it up! High-quality answers. Scheduled for Sept. 9
@MonicaCellio Scheduled for the day after Y"K. :) Thanks.

Hey Isaac, are you on Twitter personally? I'm setting up an account and apparently there's a minimum number of people you need to follow. So, trying to pick up the no-brainers. :-)

@MonicaCellio Nope. Never really got into it. I've sent more tweets in the past couple of days than ever before, combined.
... I've been tempted to do so, as an outlet for little thoughts, etc., but I've got enough ways to waste or not waste time.

@IsaacMoses ok thanks. I may be stuck there now; it doesn't want to let me get past "add your contacts" and I'm not inclined to do that. I wonder what happens if I pick a service I don't use for that. :-)
@IsaacMoses yeah, I've got Google+ for that, when I remember to check it, which isn't often. My real writing (which I don't do enough of, sigh) goes on my journal.
And Stack Exchange, of course. :-)

@MonicaCellio You could comb though the accounts that mi_yodeya follows (can you see them?) and pick from those that look good
... not all were necessarily the result of careful selection, but many are good people/orgs

@IsaacMoses good idea, thanks. And now that I look more closely I see a very light gray "skip" link, so onward.

2:44 AM
@MonicaCellio Scheduled for Sept 9, minutes after the "unforgiveable" one. Thanks!

@IsaacMoses nice combo (and not intended on my part).

@MonicaCellio Scheduled for Sept. 25 Hoshanna Rabba. Thanks!
@MonicaCellio :) Might be played-out after two showings. Let's see what new P"T comes up then ...

@IsaacMoses fair enough.

@MonicaCellio I seem to recall you need to follow some minimum number of people when setting up your account, but can unfollow (defollow?) them immediately after.
