@MichaelKjörling Google spelled with a capital G is a search engine. the google is a stylized reference used for the entire phenomenon of electronic access beyond calling the reference desk at your public library.

If you can't get someone like Vance Brand or Joe Engle to reveal that the moon landings were a hoax, you've got nothin'. Being backup crew members for Apollo flights, they had to know almost as much about the hoax as the prime crews, and they don't have any real incentive to keep the secret. Engle in particular, since he was somewhat unjustly bumped from A17.

@RussellBorogove Though of course, someone could argue that the backup crews were just for show, and it was predetermined very early exactly who would get to "make the journey". Not that I agree... It's probably quite possible for someone to outright dismiss even an eyewitness statement from someone who was there, and it goes downhill from there.

@XKCD Sadly, "some scientists" in the news is sometimes no better than Tatum and friends.

Very misleading title...
Basically they say one of the two points of evidence for there being a dyson swarm has no credible evidence (Although there might still be some evidence for it...)

News can only swing one way or the other. Anything tame doesn't get read.
This unfortunate trend results in a lot of misunderstandings about science.
