@whuber, by 'checking in' you mean that it needs one message to be posted, right? Or is it enough if one user just logs in (without posting). Tks.
 
@Sirgeo seems like the author was not very familiar with QGIS and therefore the results presented in the table at the end comparing functionality are not to be trusted.

@AndreSilva Sorry about being vague: I believe it requires an actual post to reset the timing mechanism for freezing a room, but I'm not absolutely sure of that.

@AndreSilva From the above Meta SE Q&A above I would say that @whuber is correct - it sounds like all that is needed is one message to be posted each 14 days
