When I render an image that could take hours to finish is there a way that I can save the render at every hour, so that if my computer crashes I do not loose everything?
Is it possible to select all objects that have a particular material assigned to them?

Blender has a built in template for adding a custom menu to the main header (INFO_HT_header). This can be found by going into the text editor under templates->Python->UI Menu.
Can I relocate this custom menu to be inserted between "Window" and "Help" sub menus? If so, how?
Is there a way to use the Blender Text Editor for adding a custom menu and not get a duplicate every time I click on "Run Script" to test the menu? For example, in the text editor, load the template like so:
