@e-sushi I made a sponge factory in python for constructing a sponge from a supplied permutation. So you certainly can make a sponge from an arbitrary permutation, though of course I'm sure you were inquiring about the requirements of such a permutation more so then the possibility. Just thought I'd put it out there just the same!

@EllaRose Thanks for the pointer nevertheless… needed a reason to dive into python anyway – might as well abuse the opportunity to check out your “factory”. ;)

though, uhh, it's not documented...
I could fix that
fixed, at least for the factory. Though, looking at it now, I feel like it would have been better to not use a partial for all of those parameters, but I guess it is how it is
