@JacobJanTuinstra Sorry, I apparently have been out of the room for too long to have gotten the reply. If I can completely justify closing something on my own, I do so (e.g., programming questions), but if it's a duplicate or something that's right on the borderline, I usually let it hang out in the queue for a bit. I figure that people can reopen, and I usually watch the reopen queue pretty carefully.

If we had a solid quorum of 7 voters or so (which we don't always on any given day), I would happily step aside and let the community loose on everything.

I don't know what to do about rustling up a close/reopen posse to be active on the site. We really need more traffic and were hurt by the last Google changes to their algorithm (I think I have posted this before, but meta.stackexchange.com/questions/232388/… is the related MSE question).

@JacobJanTuinstra I thought the citations were okay, but it's always best to put it in your own words and just use the citations to back up what you say. Feel free to block quote anything that you think you can't rephrase.

Yeah, and I think it's been noticeable. We used to get questions every few hours like clockwork and sometimes we go 12-14 hours without one now

The sites activity was also growing.....gradually, from 27k to 30+k

That's very true. I'm sure someone at SE is looking into these things, but I'm not sure to what end.
