I have protected it. In terms of consolidating the answers, flagging wouldn't be appropriate, as we can't really do anything about it. It's really a "list" question at heart, and would probably be closed if asked today, to be honest.

Curating and formatting the existing answers to be uniform relative to one another would be a great addition, though. Removing cruft/editorializing like Google is the motor of Internet censorship. If you want a free Internet, use some non-evil companies, like DuckDuckGo or others. would be acceptable.

@jonsca The we can't really do anything about it and would probably be closed if asked today is as I suspected. That is a shame however because IMO the info is very useful bt would be much better as a structured series of bullet points. If there were a tag [google-does-not-search] maybe in its wiki - but I doubt that would be appreciated by SE!

Except I see there is a [google-search] tag that I think would serve. Should I have a stab at it perhaps?
