nah, it was just passed around to two different contractors before it came to me

and it was such a mess that I just decided to rebuild it instead of working with it

so I have to build it from scratch in 4 days

I hired this specific contractor because they said they were cool with Xamarin, built "tons of apps in it before"

after two weeks they went over my head to the company owner

and said "search Google for "Xamarin sucks" and you'll get all bad stuff, I want to use ObjC"

so at the next programming team meeting the owner brought it up and I refused to support it if they built it native

the contractor said they could compromise and do it in Cordova

later turned out they'd never used Cordova before, were completely clueless, and said they had an even worse time with it than Xamarin before running out of hours in the budget

the code they delivered, for an entire 9 page app, was all in one single JS file =.=

you can tell which parts were by which person for sure

though it almost looks like one person wrote all the code and the other person just wrote all the comments

someone claimed harassment against him so they punished him for it by making him hourly instead of salary

then they slowly took his work away until he had no hours

I started giving him more of my work, but then I ran out of work that was easy enough for him

so he got another job

and now I'm left with noobs :D

@CuddleBunny one of the reasons why i hated my last job. i don't mind my monthly pay being calculated by $ x expected hours per week but when the work slows down hour-by-hour really messes up your pay.....depending on your boss

I'm not typically offensive, but knowing him has really opened my eyes about just how many people actually report that kind of stuff

It astounds me that people wouldn't just confront that person and notify them that they were being offensive

@CuddleBunny i'm fine. started playing Neir: Automata on the PS4. almost ready to get the Golden Ending in Persona 4 on the Vita. got a bunch of Japanese Games from Steam after getting that to work offline which also includes the anticipation for The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky The Third and i started watching Angel Beats

I got lucky, it was only 20 minutes away

it was gorgeous

I do play Overwatch sometimes still, since I can get a game in when I only have a brief period of freedom

starting to feel the sting of never playing FPS games though

as I get mechanically better at the game and all of it's strategies but my accuracy is completely horrible

Q: are the characters from Ente Isla japanese names references to something?

I feel like there is some kind of joke with the characters fake names that I am missing. One of the characters I think asks if their names are outdated. Is that the joke, just that they are using archaic names? Or is there something else?
