The author of the accepted answer, known as "robot" in the lounge, was like, "this is stupid, I'm gonna delete my answer".

The next thing that happened was that Xeo accepted his answer to prevent him from doing that.

I'm trying to compile this really basic program. This is not a BASIC program, so Visual Studio does not know what to do with it. In addition, on a French system, you need to pass a programme to the compiler.

@Mysticial That's the reason they disabled close votes on Area 51.

@LoganM SO also suffers from the jealousy factor. A LOT of people seem to CV, DV, and downvote out of jealousy.

That's just because of its size. When something goes viral, it goes up - waaaay up.

Yeah. On Area 51, there's just a few users who CV every proposal that isn't "New Technology X" or "Y Language" as "not a viable proposal". It got so obnoxious that they just disabled CVs completely. Luckily, on SO, that effect is mostly drowned out due to the sheer volume of questions.

But for the few questions that do get a lot of attention, it wouldn't surprise me if they got a ton of CVs

I think close to half of the SO questions that get +100 within a couple of days go through at least one close/reopen cycle.
