My gaming computer is 12 years old and can't quite handle the graphics for some games. So I'm looking at buying a new gaming PC. Any recommendations about graphics card, processor, etc? I mostly play RTS and turn-based strategy games, so I think something on the lower end should be fine.

all i can say is don't get a laptop

👍

how much effort are you willing to put in :p
my answer depends on that
@lyxal noway, baba is you integration

@Ginger Hmm... well, I bought my current one secondhand from my workplace, put in a better graphics card, then replaced the power supply because the old one wasn't able to run the new graphics card. So, maybe that much effort, but preferably less.

you could probably just get a generic office PC from within the last couple of years

I think the sticking point is going to be the graphics card, no?

yeah, somewhat
what card do you have right now?

Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti
I haven't run into a game that straight-up doesn't work, but the Civ 6 leader screens are low-quality and look ugly. Also, when I was playing the Millennia demo, the terrain was glitching out, which I assume was a problem on my end.

hm
I think I need to call in an expert

Narrator: You cannot call in an expert.

I was doing some cruciball 16 runs and I don't believe it but they've made spinfection actually good!
Normally a spinfection build isn't really viable
Because by the time you've built up enough, you've either killed the enemy with spinfection or you don't actually get a chance to build up enough
Because it's always decreasing (as is the obvious behaviour of a poison mechanism)
They added an elite relic that makes the spinfection level go up each turn instead of going down
It means that your spinfection is actually doing something and not just a passive "oh that's a nice one turn -10"
You can finally do a dedicated poison build and it doesn't need a backup plan!

whoa nice
