12:00 AM
I have signed up my free 'registered user' account on Ancestry.com for the beta testing list for the new user interface. I wonder if they are planning to bring over to Ancestry the interface that is being used on Newspapers.com and Fold3. If so I expect great howls of outrage from the long-time users.

@JanMurphy Where did you find out about the "beta testing list for the new user interface" - I might try to sign up too.

@PolyGeo on Dick Eastman's Blog (EOGN):

There were other news items about the new interface in the news coverage from RootsTech.

Thanks @JanMurphy - I'm now on the waitlist for an invitation too

@PolyGeo I may not be doing you any favors.
BTW one of the things I am doing as a test of Newspapers.com is to search for items which I have already found on other sites (a standard test technique of mine -- looking for things that I know exist).
I have found that for the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, Newspapers.com does have very clean copies of the newspaper, but there are other area papers I found via Fulton History which Newspapers.com does NOT have.
As I sort out my previous finds and re-enter things into a fresh file, I hope to be able to search for better copies of some of the less-readable pages.
Also, last night I watched this webinar:
http://bcgcertification.org/blog/2015/02/free-bcg-webinar-f-warren-bittner-cg-on-complex-evidence/
F. Warren Bittner, CG, on Complex Evidence
If this webinar is repeated, I highly recommend it. Bittner talks about a case study from his New York City research, in which he uses indirect evidence to prove his research question.

That webinar sounds great so I hope they post it online. In particular these two sentences resonate with me "The genealogist’s goal is to establish identity and prove relationships. Complex evidence is often the ONLY way to do this."
I think a big challenge in our G&FH SE questions is to explain complex evidence in a simple manner so that we can get across to potential answerers in a quickly and easily digestible form what we have researched and where we are stuck.
