is it ok to answer a question with the suggestion of bash or should everything be done through the wordpress site?

I ask because I answered: wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/240765/… but dont know if my answer is in scope.

@DᴀʀᴛʜVᴀᴅᴇʀ, I think answers of any kind are always in scope, it is just a question if the are useful

specifically in regard to bash.... some people do use windows for hosting ;)
