Imagine reading such list of changes for WordPress: phpbb.com/about/launch
> New and refactored code now consistently follows the Dependency Injection design pattern.

Who's nowadays not using Symfony components? (Aside from WordPress)

is the wordpress svn -> github mirror system broken?
last commit at github from 12 days ago

8:29 AM
they might be messing with it for PRs thing... or broken

I am creating some intermediate classes which returns objects that will be used on view to represent data. The main objective of those classes are to get rid of WP dependencies on view. For example `Post_To_Number` class maps a post object to another object which will be used on views.

I have put those data mapper classes under Model. I did it correct right?

@Rarst mark already said its broken on slack

if default php timezone is UTC 0. Then is it safe to assume that all posts and database entry are in UTC 0?

WP doesn't care about PHP settings

what is WP default then?

there is separate post_date_gmt field for posts, don't remember what main field has, probably in blog's time zone

post_date_gmt is set different values when you choose timezone form wordpress dashboard.

hm? had you tested this?

11:34 AM
by default it is same as the post_date what I am trying to understand is what is the timezone for post_date?

it's not same, again had you tested saving with different time zone?

so, created two different test post.

#1. Timezone UTC 0 - `post_date` and `post_date_gmt` same.
#2. Timezone UTC +6 - `post_date` and `post_date_gmt` same.

post_date	post_date_GMT	post_title
2014-10-29 13:40:17	2014-10-29 11:40:17	Time Zone +2
2014-10-29 11:40:55	2014-10-29 11:40:55	Time Zone GMT

11:53 AM
so post_date is always UTC 0/UTC/GMT?

post date is based on UNIX time stamp === UTC 0

it's clearly not, see above?
to be clear two posts created in a row with differet time zone set
post_date reflects time zone set at the moment of creation
hard to word :)

12:38 PM
ah, I meant the gmt thing

Just had a look at the WooCommerce POS plugin demo (for WordPress). I have to admin that the UI is extremely good. http://demo.woopos.com.au/pos/
honestly: check that out.

doesn't load

yeah, it's slow over here as well. had to try 2 times. when you got in (name/pass = demo/demo), it's "normal" regarding speed

1:12 PM
i got in

@kaiser POS means Point Of Sale. It has another meaning too in English. Kind of a funny choice. Piece of Sh**

hehe

this is not an accident

The #ImonThemes factory by @ImonHasan2 has two themes: *ISIS* & *Hathor* What a #fail with naming.
I had to search up the site to actually believe that.

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL /ˈaɪsəl/) also translated as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS /ˈaɪsɪs/; ad-Dawlah al-Islāmīyah fīl-ʻIraq wa ash-Shām), also known by the Arabic acronym Daʿish and self-described as the Islamic State (IS), is a Sunni, extremist, jihadist, self-proclaimed caliphate and unrecognized state in Iraq and Syria in the Middle East. The group originated as Jama'at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad in 1999. This group was the forerunner of Tanzim Qaidat al-Jihad fi Bilad al-Rafidayn, commonly known as Al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI). AQI took part in the Iraqi insurgency against...

I'm aware of Daesh
though I'm not sure why Hathor is a bad name
Who knows, they might really like Stargate SG1

Sounds/Reads like hater ?

not really

I guess someone has to bridge the gap in the market for ISIS supporters and haters in general..
more likely that the Stargate makers are into Egyptian mythology, like the people at ImonThemes

2:52 PM
well, in Italy ISIS is used for "Istituto Statale Istruzione Superiore" it means "public high school" more or less

@ialocin lets hope so

3:05 PM
@kaiser I'd assume so, because both names are Egyptian goddesses

it's just hitting me that Slack has no moderation tools. yikes...

11:40 PM
maybe thats just because we're lowly users
but then I didnt think things like hipchat and slack were ever intended to be IRC replacements, their large installs being aimed at corporate interests not wide open public affairs

nope, I've been through help some. admins can kick user from the channel (well that, and delete likely). that's about it. no rules, no flags, no designated moderators.
precisely. multiply by WP community. in moderation regard that place is screwed.
the discussion got me worked up very fast. designating it “not my problem”.
