4:55 AM
@chx Nice trip

chx
5:23 AM
@Berwyn: Milan, Rome and Bazel are just transit. the rest, yeah

got 32k miles travel coming up

chx
@Berwyn: and of course this is with me living in Vancouver but if i add it , the map becomes a mess. And Dublin is missing too where I will go to for a week after.
Owie
that's a lot of flying

Next Saturday for about a month though
SFO-LON on one day and LON-LAX on the next

chx
gcmap.com/… this it the full trip

not sure how that's going to affect my body clock

chx
5:27 AM
Well that's just a return West Coast-Europe
How's that 32k?

That YVR-AMS skews it a bit

chx
Oh god
that's not only SFO-LON-LAX

yeah
I'd already bougth the ticket to Hawaii so have to come back to get on it
then work sent me out to California again
Who's your YVR-AMS with?

chx
KLM
they had an insane sale
so I cancelled my Aeroplan ticket and went with them
less than 2000 USD for YVR-VIE/AMS-YVR in lie flat on the long flights? that's a deal.

So, joined skyteam?
That is a very nice price

chx
5:41 AM
well, Aeroplan I am really just churning credit cards
I dont have status

Yeah, but you need skyteam for KLM

chx
Yeah, i have flying blue but i dont expect much from it

yeah, I got a status match to it a couple of times
rarely fly them though

chx
I am not flying enough for status
Not these days
2011 and 2012 was different, i had over 50k in 2012
most of my transatlantic flights are award flights
so hard to get status -- and i frankly dont feel the need for it
Priority Pass serves well when I don't fly business to have lounge access
I have like what, six, i think , lounge opportunities and I tend to only need a lounge when flying business anyways

My BA year ended this month. Will renew status next month

chx
5:46 AM
well, 32k in a few days, easy to get status that way
i hope you can sleep on flights :)

BA is so easy to get status on in general though
I can. after a few drinks

chx
6:08 AM
I really like lie flat seats :)

Me too

4 hours later…
10:24 AM
@JonathanReez I posted a question about which past Olympic stadiums you could stay in, after I stayed in the one in Helsinki
it was deemed a list question at the time and voted down to oblivion
ironically Ithink it'd probably survive the community today ;)
I think it actually only got about -3, but hey, I removed it for a Winterbash hat about deleting old posts and got the peer pressure badge too :)

2 hours later…
12:05 PM
deary me. I'm supposed to be a barrister to offer an opinion on whether Ryanair's charges were justified
That question has certainly provoked a lot of commentary

3 hours later…
3:03 PM
@phoog dude I'm confused, the OP says I have a visa that allows me to enter Canada, do I need a visa to transit Canada ? the answer is no, isn't it ?
you're saying if he didn't have a student visa he'd need a transit visa
which is correct
but it's not what they're asking

3 hours later…
6:01 PM
@HeidelBerGensis Can't you answer that bulk air ticketing question? The current answer is pathetic
I felt compelled to answer

6:36 PM
This is weird, three 'answers' even though told not to ask in the answers fields:
0
A: Italian consulate Schengen visa time

Myrnamacaraegplease answer me and send my email address mizrahimyrna@gmail.com thank you i waiting the respond

need a 15Ker to protect it

@blackbird57 The answer is no because he's not trying to transit Canada.

@Berwyn i got a friend who can give me the full details.. but i am out of town.. and not feel like calling the guy due to this timezone change.. just enjoying mosquito bites for now..

6:52 PM
But if he were trying to transit Canada, he would need a visa. He already has a visa that would allow him to transit Canada, but that doesn't change the fact that he needs a visa.
Look at it this way. If I asked you "do I need a driver's license to drive in the UK" you wouldn't answer "no" because I already have a driver's license, would you?

You could answer along the lines 'you need a visa but the one you already have is enough.

@Willeke but the real point is that he's asking about a transit visa for a stopover in Montreal with a final destination of Toronto.
That is not a transit.
Nobody needs a transit visa for that itinerary.

Then you answer 'you enter the country in Montreal, where you start using your visa.

@HeidelBerGensis where are you? I am in mosquito country too.

Just like we say when someone is entering the Schengen zone in one country, on the way to an other.

7:06 PM
@phoog indonesia currently..

@Willeke indeed. I would have answered that but the question indicates that there is some source of information saying he needs a transit visa. I wanted to find out what that source could be before answering.

I would answer (as I suggested) and ask where he found that other information at the end of the answer.

@phoog oh right, I see now
anw I'm also curious to know where the OP got that info but seems unlikely he'll come back to answer your question
these casual askers seems to disappear

7:39 PM
the hairy legs question made my day..
even mosquitos are laughing with me..

Good answer here, shame we can only do one up-vote per answer

A: What are some tips for a child flying alone for the first time?

MeghaFirst - really actually first, before any plans for the day-of are even made, double-check your requirements. Many airlines will assume a passenger has a common photo ID like a drivers' license, which is of course age-restricted. You might need to arrange another form of ID (like a passport) - a...

People seem to want everybody to look like children, no visible hair other than on the top of the head and eyebrows, with paint over the eyelashes.

@Willeke i know some men who shave their legs.. i wouldn't do that.. i hate shaving my face! i can't really do my legs.. that's a lot of real estate to shave..

That is how I feel, I keep my legs covered if I feel embarrest, but I will not shave them.
:)) @HeidelBerGensis, gorilla level..... :))
@MarkMayo 40 votes today. (Took my time, maybe that helps.)

Kopi time!

Lots of cyclists shave legs. I've never quite figured out why

7:51 PM
Aerodynamics. (Or just having your leg hairs getting caught in the chain.)
I prefer my bike having the protection agains that.

they say. I don't believe it

Those are the same people who will spend $100 to replace one part of the bike with an other that is a few grams lighter, and then add more weight by only riding in perfect weather.

8:12 PM
Or those who update their front wheel quick release to shave 50g forgetting they're 20kg overweight

@Willeke I still don't understand how SE calculates the extra 10 votes, but so far if I start with enough Q votes I've been getting all 10 extra votes at the end
40 votes today

ditto. 40 votes 10 days in a row
