@GayotFow Is that related to the refugee emergency?
Or am I reading too much into it?

@GayotFow we're totally in a position to turn away questions
we've been doing it very well for four years, and growing logically and still rapidly
@GayotFow nice work on contacting re portuguese visa

11:14 AM
@JoErNanO Yes, a presentation to the stakeholders
@MarkMayo That was addressed to somebody else

@Ulkoma personally, I liked a lot of your questions, and judging by past people who complain and say bye, you'll likely return, so hopefully you'll see this. I've posted some bizarre ones back in the day myself, and sometimes it's fun and sometimes to learn, like you said.
You mentioned you'd learned a lot on the security one. That's cool. A lot of your questions here were educational too - passport ones, ID for children etc.

@JoErNanO nice work on application-status
very alert

I think what upset some people was the types of responses you gave to people answering/commenting on the ice-cream question, and after that, you seemed to change a bit.
Made it seem, I guess, more like 'trolling' (some were calling it). Shrug. I answered the ice-cream one, and you accepted my answer, happily.
While you want others to be civil to you (and I don't think everyone was, the unexplained downvotes on your questions are unfortunate), lines like "fix the system or bow down to me" - eh, it doesn't come off very well. Civility goes both ways.
Anyway, hope to see you back, I like interesting (on topic) questions.

@MarkMayo I am the 5th highest close voter on the site. So perhaps I might be in a position to offer perspective on the topic

Chad: $1.23 weekly
Norway: $731 weekly.. check the rest of the photos.. so interesting!

A: Free street parking options for unlimited time in Bratislava?

JonathanReezBratislava's municipal parking company provides a map of the resident-only parking zone. Parking there generally requires either a resident's permit (which you obviously won't have) or an hourly fee. ] Therefore your best bet is to park a little bit to the west of the UFO bridge, where the resi...

@JoErNanO I can't see any flags?

guys, please check out my answer to get this question out of the Unanswered queue
thank you, anonymous voter!

@JonathanReez v nice +1

4:47 PM
@GayotFow No, this is a different group. You had Chinese diploma spam earlier; this is Korean.
Informally, this strain is known as "bamwar".

@NormalHuman I thought it was Korean as well

(So called because of some domain names they pitch; even though this particular one has another site).

Ach sorry for the misinterpretation.

@AnkurBanerjee I guess they were automatically dismissed as helpful when the post got 6 spam flags and was auto-deleted.

@AnkurBanerjee I was referring to that one flagged by Gayot. The folks who helped us a couple days ago asked us to forward relevant information to them.

4:50 PM
This one is not as scary because they are usually not hammering your site with dozens of posts.

Yes it seems to be quiet

They are more into width, with one user posting spam on several sites: stackexchange.com/users/6901852/chum7?tab=accounts
The Chinese diploma spam sets its aim on one site and just keeps on going...

I destroyed that chum7 account on our site

Any movie lovers know any move about the "Wow! signal"?

@NeanDerThal Can you clarify? 'Unclear what you're asking"

1 hour later…
7:25 PM
@GayotFow here:
The Wow! signal was a strong narrowband radio signal detected by Jerry R. Ehman on August 15, 1977, while he was working on a SETI project at the Big Ear radio telescope of The Ohio State University, then located at Ohio Wesleyan University's Perkins Observatory in Delaware, Ohio. The signal bore the expected hallmarks of non-terrestrial and non-Solar System origin. The signal appears to have come from the northwest of the globular cluster of M55 in the constellation Sagittarius, near the Chi Sagittarii star group. The entire signal sequence lasted for the full 72-second window that Big Ear was...

@NeanDerThal yeah, I know about that part, but you were asking about a movie, no?

8:12 PM
@GayotFow yes, any movies about this?
whether sci-fi or documentaries..

No. There nearest movie is "Contact" from about 1999 or so. It has never been touched in a documentary I've seen. And that means LOTS of them

8:24 PM
I didn't watch this one........
but I have it stored :)
Of all the signals received in the search for intelligent extraterrestrials, the Wow! signal is one that many people remember. And Jerry Ehman was the man who wrote it. Ehman taught astronomy and electrical engineering at Ohio State University and worked on early projects for Big Ear, a radio telescope at the university.

@Relaxed what about that schengen question?

Which one ?
I suggest a new one : Where the hell is this Schengen place I keep hearing about ?
Do I really need to go there ?
Is a Schengen visa also valid for other villages in Luxembourg ?

The one where the guy couldn't admit that he made a mess out of it

Ah, yes
What about it ?

Why didn't you answer it?
I thought it was funny :) but at least an answer could do

Euh, yes, I don't know what to say, tough luck I guess?

8:46 PM
LOL
I was thinking that also

You answer it then

Could he find somebody with a Schengen they didn't want to use and use theirs?

Really it's simple, if you see something you can answer, go ahead, don't worry about me or anything…
What?

I like yours better

9:26 PM
See if you like it LOL

Excellent !

@Relaxed LOL, thanks, I still think it's funny :)
I am giggling about it

You're what's called “bon public” in French

LOL, it's funny, no?

Maybe but I am listening to Johnny Cash at the same time
THAT is not funny

9:39 PM
Which Johnny Cash? I am big fan

Right now, God's Gonna Cut You Down

just a sec, I will check my archives

And now “Ain't No Grave”
It's the song not the album
I have something called American Recordings I think
With numbers I, II, III, etc.

You love posting pictures, don't you?

9:48 PM
How do you like it?

The Live at Folsom ?

Yeah, have that one, plus his greatest hits

It's famous
But to be honest, I don't remember, I think I must have listened to it at some point but I don't have it at hand

The album?
now you got me in my country archives!
Listening to Hank Williams Jr, the Eyes of Wayon
got Doug Kershaw queued up! :)
