@MarkMayo that's great! for a while it looked as if it's going to slowly die out

@drat it doesn't have the same addicted community travel does, but it's got a few regular users now and certainly traffic is coming.

8:11 AM
@MarkMayo Addicted? Who are you calling addicted?! I can stop whenever I want!

@JoErNanO yea yea I believe you.. says the one who deleted his account and created a new one shortly after --> me

Q: Do any Chinese embassies or consulates grant multiple-entry visas to people from a third country?

hippietrailThis question is specifically about true multiple-entry visas, which for China are valid for six months and allow multiple entries. This question is not about double-entry visas. In the case of China, these are distinct and I know where and how to get a double-entry visas, but not where and how ...

8:50 AM
@IKeelYou Clearly you have no self control. I on the other hand can handle my addictions. :P
(Quoting from the top 100 junkie quotes.) :D

@GayotFow Great listings for that London eating question!

3:34 PM
@JoErNanO Thanks, it's kind of you to say that. I saw another respondent write "Edgware Road" and thought "Damn! Forgot that one!"
And note that some chap removed the suspect spam from another. A brave member! I would not have done that for fear of vandalism.

I removed that. :)

"Edgware Road", isn't that the street full of Arabian food and arabs..

No mercy.
@GayotFow And here's some competition for you: travel.stackexchange.com/questions/48051/eating-alone-in-london/…

@JoErNanO Well done Joe!

I had no time to write up this morning so I left a comment.

3:36 PM
@IKeelYou Yes, it's very arabian ethnic. On Edgware Road, but you need to remember the spelling :)

been there zillion times.. the food sucks and the shisha sucks.. and 10x the price back home..

@GayotFow Fixed that too. :)
@IKeelYou Edgware road isn't bad at all. Plenty of food joints. Most of them touristy but hell that's true for most cities.

I am talking about the quality of the Arabian food there..
it is not the best.. trust me..

Today I got a +10 on SO. I might get to 1k rep in twenty-thirty years.

and it is expensive..

3:39 PM
I meant in terms of offer. There's plenty of choice. Of course the food won't be traditional genuine etc. I just take that for granted.
Plus I stopped eating spicy food. So that kinda rules Edgware road out. :)

it is made by arabs.. but somehow I didn't like it.. I tried a few places there..
arabs don't eat spicy!
you must have had indian food there..
we use little spices only
you have seen a Sikh,, though he is an arab.. and bought food form there :D :D :D

@IKeelYou If you are near Edgware Road, then WTF, just walk over to Marylebone High Street!

By spicy I don't mean necessarily hot. I mean spicy.

@GayotFow I walk to the cinema at the end of the road.. watch a movie.. then walk in any direction till I am lost.. always do that..

Also same neighbourhood, the best fish & chips in a 1 mile radius

3:41 PM
@JoErNanO ooh, I thought u meant chilly..

On MHS, I have seen eating ALONE....
Bruce Willis
Barbara Windsor --- a regular!
Gerry Hollowell

haven't you seen me?

:D:D
@IKeelYou Is everywhere!

Liam Gallagher

AFAIK, English people see us all the same..
so, there must be IKellYou there...

3:43 PM
Guy Ritchie
eating somewhere in MHS by themselves

I miss The Anchor pub with it's view on the Thames, its outside terrace, and the most bulletproof battered fish and chips ever fried by mankind.
:D

Charles Dickens lived on the corner of MHS
The Beatles lived in the middle

I have had a bad experience in a pub.. in Bournemouth.. I was beaten by a big guy.. can't remember much.. then I remember being carried by my friend...
it was like 20 years ago..

Why do you always go look for big guys, huh? :)

@JoErNanO it was very brave to remove that spammish content

3:47 PM
@JoErNanO drunk people think they are strong...

@GayotFow Why brave? I think that posting a recommendation to a specific joint as a first answer is kinda suspect. But it's open for discussion.
@IKeelYou True. Especially in the UK.

@JoErNanO because you could have been done for vandalism
Truly guys, St Christopher's Place is where it rocks

whats that @GayotFow?

@IKeelYou read my answer! duh...
Also don't miss

:D

@GayotFow You know all the posh places, man. Should try eating in a good old-fashioned vomit-smelling sticky-flooring puh.
:D
Or Nando's.
:D :D

St Christopher's is a walking zone at the bottom of MHS cram packed with up market restaurants
@JoErNanO plenty of those in Essex :)

4:14 PM
@GayotFow I always remove spam from posts - either edit it from the post, or more commonly just delete the entire post :-)
@JoErNanO I have my table booked at Jamie Oliver's Italian in Edinburgh for Sunday dinner - looking forward to it

@RoryAlsop Let me know how it goes. I've never been to Jamie's Italian. Always feared I'd be disappointed.
@RoryAlsop It wasn't exactly spam. Just overt mention of a business (restaurant) in the first answer from a brand new user. They might have been genuine, but I'd rather err on the safe side.

4:37 PM
@pnuts & @relaxed I don't understand your comments on travel.stackexchange.com/questions/40030/… at all. How is that not a duplicate. To me, the end of the flight (St Maarten) is not the question, but rather the Amsterdam layover...

4:59 PM
LOL! Restaurant owner :)
@RoryAlsop :) all yours, sir

@GayotFow Are you stalking people on linkedin? :)

Q: Are "violation points" applied to EU licences outside of their home country?

JonathanReezAssuming I have a Czech license and break a minor law in Germany which incurs me a certain number of "violation points" (e.g. speeding), would those points be eventually transferred to my Czech license? I would obviously have to pay the fine (either on the spot or by mail), but it's not clear if ...

@GayotFow That post office question was a low-hanging fruit. :P

5:25 PM
@JoErNanO Heavens no! I'm forging valuable business contacts.

5:39 PM
@GayotFow Are you still trying to pick-up strangers to ask you random passport-related enquiries by email? P

2 hours later…
8:02 PM
@JoErNanO Passport questions are boring. Removals are much more dramatic

8:49 PM

9:09 PM
@GayotFow Whatcha watching?

9:51 PM
@JoErNanO Screen caps from the Edge of Tomorrow that show the maps :)

Q: Would the most logical path from Normandy to the Bavarian Alps (Germany) pass through Lyon?

Andrew ThompsonIn the movie Edge of Tomorrow, the main characters were travelling by road from Normandy in France to somewhere in the mountains of Germany (a dam)1. During the journey, one of the characters mentions passing through Lyon, France. Google Maps shows it thus: We decided in comments to narrow it...
