@andra you could get a great answer on 'how should I travel from London to South Africa'. That's so off-topic and opinion-based and broad it's ridiculous and would be closed immediately due to the rules for this site. However it may be perfectly on topic elsewhere. Again, some of their off-topic questions may be on topic here. Someone answering a 'bad' question isn't necessarily a good thing - it might be helpful to the OP, but possibly not for the site :(

I was talking about my passing truck question which got quite some downvotes

which btw recovered overnight

Even with -3 downvotes, I got a great answer on why trucks slow down

also my poster in paris question is a great example of this

The point is that you should not be intimidated by down or close votes

@andra I usually find that downvotes happen earlier than upvotes. Probably because downvotes come from grouches who don't have anything better to do.

@andra I didn;t know which question you were talking about, I just wanted to clarify that a bad question getting good answers is still a bad question ;) (I've not looked at yours, dunno if good or bad, just clarifying) :D
