Q: Travel with a hula hoop by low-cost airlines?

Manuela LacerdaThis question is a bit specific. I hope someone can help. I want to travel around Europe with my hula hoop, it's folding but still can't fit in my bag. If I tied it behind the bag it does not exceed the limits that low cost airlines impose for handbags. Still, I'm afraid that they don't let me s...

Q: Full Name in Passport

ArmorI am appearing for TOEFL test this fall but my passport has my father's name included along with my name(Clerical mistake). Would like to know if I could register with just my name or do I have to only use passport's exact name. This is because, all other documents just have my name on it.

so this is basically applying for a job/study right? Where's the travel component?

Q: What would a Memphis to Los Angeles round trip have cost in 1963?

Michael ThompsonI'm doing research for a novel. I need to know the approximate cost for airfare (American Airlines?) from Memphis to Los Angeles, round trip anytime in 1963.

this may well raise whether or not we're going to support historical questions

seems fair to me
it's a fun question and nothing seems off topic

Is it possible to (within the system) ignore another specific user?
@MarkMayo in re the historical question: would a question "how much does a round trip ticket cost between Memphis and LAX cost, if booked today for a flight in two weeks?" be on- or off-topic?

@CGCampbell Never found such an option

bummer, there is a regular travel user who I am afraid will soon cause my head to burst open :(

uh oh
better to let him/her not get into your head and just ignore

@CGCampbell: there might be a Greasemonkey script for this purpose, but officially -- no way
you can ignore users in chat, AFAIR

@mindcorrosive it's not chat, it's comments in questions and answers
my problem is I start to read the comment, before the name, usually. I get to a point where I go, dude this! and only then do I realize who it is, and move along
thanks though

@CGCampbell: see something I wrote on another occasion, but most of it applies for your situation

A: If you see sexist content, do something

mindcorrosiveGeneral advice on offensive/rude/hate speech to all, as I don't know what particular post you refer to: Speaking as one of the moderators on Travel-SE, I don't always follow up on everything written in chat, so it's possible we've missed that. If you don't want to point at a particular infractio...

yep, thought so, I've actually already read that, nicely written
