I've just discovered the ultimate travel adventure show!

@hippietrail and that is?

Two French guys start out from a beach naked and carrying only three cameras and a knife.

name?

They have to find and barter stuff along the way. Their goal is to get a tandem bike at a flea market in Lille and ride to the Netherlands!

3:08 AM
see if you can find it by its title

didn't find the Holland one...

holland is episode 5 - just the one i found first

I am more into the survival things..
there is one video of a guy who lived few months in the wild alone, so damn gooooood

one of the original reality tv shows back before big brother was a japanese guy locked naked in a room who could only gain clothes, food, and anything by winning competitions!

add something naked in a show, it will be successful !!!

3:17 AM
i don't know if that one was successful (-:

I am watching the morocco episode.. seems nice!

user116848
hi all

hi @Arrowfar

user116848
@MeNoTalk So this chat is usually dead :-)

i shall watch as many episodes as i can find during my double shift later

3:19 AM
this chat is the most living chat across SE... its just we have our dead times..

user116848
Looks like a good place to talk

yes

user116848
@MeNoTalk I see :-)

we are specialized in talking about toilets and stuff...

user116848
haha

3:20 AM
@hippietrail during ur double shifts :/ it would be nice to have a job where you can do that

we are all adults here

in my job, that's a safety violation :/

user116848
You mean, in travel it is often going to toilets that leads to some sort of adventure lol

apparently the bunch of hooligans were kicked out this morning so i guess it will be fairly quiet (-:

@Arrowfar we can give you tips on how to use toilets across planet earth.. whatever type of that toilet is you have someone expert in it.. trust me on that..

3:21 AM
i never hitchhiked a portable toilet )-:

@hippietrail hooligans are called "unruly passengers" here :D

these were "unruly guests"

user116848
@MeNoTalk haha No I mean people leave stuff (bags, passports etc) in toilets and then it gets very scary for them :-)

user116848
So you guys travel much I reckon

@Arrowfar not that, people are usually scared not to have toilet paper, or not to have water. depending on the side of the world you come from..
@Arrowfar we stay in one place little.. that's more accurate

user116848
3:23 AM
Yes, that too :)

@Arrowfar: i've only been to 57 countries - MeNoTalk is the real traveller

user116848
@hippietrail Oh, Nice!

user116848
I am from Pakistan btw

user116848
:-)

not.. I only been to 31 or 32...

user116848
3:24 AM
It's okay country

i have been to Pakistan few times..
Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore..

i wanted to go to pakistan on my last trip but got scared off by an incident

user116848
@MeNoTalk So? Did you like it? I mean very messy, yeah? haha

last time was around 2007 maybe.. or was it 2008? it was safe that time..

user116848
@hippietrail I see :)

3:25 AM
@Arrowfar not messy. i like it.. who doesn't like food street in Lahore, or BBQ tonight in Karachi, or that mountain in Islamabad.. forgot the name

i wanted to cross the border from china

user116848
Yes, it's safety issues here. You know political unrest etc. is common here unfortunately. I am ashamed to say

user116848
:-)

user116848
@hippietrail I see. So where are you from?

i'm from australia

user116848
3:27 AM
@MeNoTalk So are you Pakistani? You are talking like one lol

i am not Pakistani, i am from saudi arabia

i wanted to go to the hunza valley

user116848
@MeNoTalk Oh, an Arab. I look like an arab too hehe

user116848
@hippietrail Yes, that's a very nice place

how does one look like an arab? :D

user116848
3:28 AM
@MeNoTalk Ha :-) I mean beard and stuff you know

user116848
@MeNoTalk So you Muslim I am guessing

beard :D is not an arab trade mark.. probably more people with beards in Pakistan that in the whole arab world ;)

even with my beard i'm not sure i look like an arab. last time i was in in arab country everyone thought i was a spaniard!

it is just the stereotype thing ;)

user116848
@MeNoTalk Yes, and the moustache is common here too :-)

user116848
3:29 AM
@hippietrail lol

user116848
Nice talking to you both!

user116848
See ya! Bye!

see ya :)

@MarkMayo ahhh.. you found a bank I haven't worked for/with in Sydney then. Not that I'd consider them a real bank... :)
and yeah, I was at Seek working with their web team for a few days, helping setup some software that they ended up not buying
I have actually worked a lot with ING Direct, just not in Australia - in the US (until they got bought by Capital One) and in Europe

1 hour later…
6:43 AM
So you and I were literally in the same building, good chance of same floor too. Can I ask what software it was, or which team? :)
yeah ING's model is weird, but it seems to be working, have friends who rave about them (as customers) which is ... odd for a bank

7:31 AM
here's a question, are there any countries left that nobody has walked right acros?
People cross America, Australia etc pretty often
but I wonder about tougher countries like Uzbekistan or Libya

1 hour later…
8:51 AM
@MarkMayo I don't know about Uzbekistan, but I am pretty sure that Libya is walked through on a daily base by the hunderd

9:46 AM
given the amount of refugees that try to cross the Mediterranean on a daily base
@MarkMayo but if the Himalaya was ever crossed?
I also would consider Suriname and Brazil to be good condidates

10:01 AM
@andra not the entire country - it'd take a lot longer than a day ;)
I'm talking edge to edge
Long way back (movie and book?) was about a gulag escapee who allegedly crossed the himilayas and desert
but there's no evidence aside from his word, apparently
yeah Brazil, good point

@markmayo I know, but I was referring to the refugees who cross libya to get to europe.
Many of these refugees are from sub-saharan origin

ah ok, that's pretty crazy

but my proof is only statistical

anyway, was just resaerching suriname
can't find anyone that's done it

I really wonder if it is at all possible
80% of the country is covered in rain forest
I met some one that did east to west
but never north to south

Ed Stafford (born 26 December 1975) is an English explorer and former British Army captain. He holds the Guinness World Record for being the first human ever to walk the length of the Amazon River. == Biography == Stafford was born in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, England and raised in Leicestershire. Ed was a cub and a scout in Leicestershire as a boy and considers it a key component in his upbringing that led him to a life as an expedition leader. On 9 August 2010, he became the first person to walk the entire length of the Amazon River, documented in the 2011 TV series Walking the Amazon on...
someone's done the length of the amazon

Wow!

yeah that's mad

my only achievement that only points in that direction is that I have cycled the Schelde river from source to the sea
I was kind of proud on that achievement, but now I feel embarrassed :)

10:28 AM
hey, any achievement is good, you did it!
