hello there
@MarkC.Wallace, was thinking of removing the historical comments on that pm.stackexchange.com/q/21467/430
and I believe you already did, if I'm not wrong
I just wanted to avoid these harsh chatty discussions to be kept; they're not adding much value (although Venture's point on Acronym is 100% accurate)
what's your thoughts?

Hi guys - I might have joined late

hello there"
!

Has something been removed?

let me paste again, if you can't check chat history

I did not think I was overly harsh

hello there
@MarkC.Wallace, was thinking of removing the historical comments on that pm.stackexchange.com/q/21467/…

I just wanted to avoid these harsh chatty discussions to be kept; they're not adding much value (although Venture's point on Acronym is 100% accurate)
what's your thoughts?
not at all - and you had a fair point
you were teaching, after all

I remember by first ever Scrum post and being corrected on the acronym :-D

hehehe
yeah

I think it was CodeGnome haha

I also noticed you took your time updating it - thanks!
I was just wondering if we wanted to remove the comment trail to avoid the 'argument-like' historial

No problem. If my post seemed snarky it was an accident

6:28 PM
definitely!!
not a problem at all!

Sure? How is your day going Tiago?

I don't know, just wanted to know how we could make the community a better place :D
well, my family is on a trip, so I'm taking my time to study a bit

PM SE is prob the best SE community I am part of
What you studying?

got one certif, working on the 2nd

I am studying CISI

6:30 PM
:O

Small world

hell yeah!

Capital Markets and Corporate Finance

what a coincidence!
I'm doing the IT-oriented one
still thinking what would be the 3rd one
do you work for the financial sector too?

Kind of. I am an Agile Coach and currently contracted to an Insurance company
But I got into through personal derivatives trading and personal interest
How about yourself? Are you UK based?

6:34 PM
work for UK, located in Spain
and I'm Brazilian, working for German company
globalization is interesting

Wow...multi lingual? Portugese, Spanish, English and maybe a little German?

no german... hadn't time (although I started to have some classes of Catalan)

Brexit is not my country's finest hour. Quite ashamed actually.

but after Brexit, seems that German will be the one to go
I can tell you that was in my plans to move to London in the future
now... I'm not sure
a pitty, for everyone

I am getting a lot of job offers for Amsterdam, Luxembourg and Northern Germany
Barclaycard are moving their digital teams to Hamburg quietly

6:37 PM
it seems there's where the financial core is likely to move in the coming years
I read that UK authorities asked major institutions for plans on brexit
they had no other option
as one said.. "there's no cherry picking"

Indeed. If you are currently seeking new opportunities then connect with me on LinkedIn. I am always happy to forward on opportunities.

will keep one eye on opportunities

I think that is right - each company is quietly making plans to move tech and finance to Europe
Request sent :-)

and accepted!

@TiagoCardoso Concur; I removed the comment. You are correct, the comment added no value.

6:42 PM
@MarkC.Wallace cheers - just didn't want to do any intervention without having your guys opinion
I'm not sure what to do with that question
shall we just leave as is?

6:56 PM
@Venture2099 btw - do you think the CISI really adds value on our leadership roles?
I appreciate it's easier to understand requirements
so, it's my benefit - but I'm not sure if there's any other added value beyond the self knowledge
i.e. have you heard about firms seeking for certified people?

@TiagoCardoso Not specifically but I wanted an alternative to the MBA
and Chartered Status is respected in the UK

@Venture2099 interesting, nice to hear

If you consider that Lean Startup and Entrepreneurship is largely about Product and raising Capital then CISI can be really valuable
Without ever having to even refer to your qualification
I was tired of being presented with a term sheet for a start up that looked like financial swahili
The Corporate Finance side is also a great background in linking projects / programmes to wider strategic aims
How do we account for value in Agile? How do we ensure Shareholders are represented in good governance?

@Venture2099 indeed it's definitely an added value - helps a lot on the daily work

It's the other side of the coin
For me - I think it gives credibility when dealing with non-Agile c-level roles

7:09 PM
which are the key people to deal with - if everyone else buys in but the senior management doesn't... it's all lost
you do trainings on firms only or you do personal coaching as well?
I've heard about a bunch of people in UK interested to know more about agile but didn't had time to dedicate - maybe if you have the means, I'd be happy to introduce you

I am actually just putting together a personal training course now. How spooky...
Small group coaching is where I get my best referrals
I would love for you to broker an introduction. Very much appreciated

Do you work in the City?

7:32 PM
Hello @Sarov! We were discussing what to do with the comments on that question
as it seems the whole question was a bit confusing
and I invited you folks here to discuss if we wanted to leave the trail of comments as they were or if we should just remove them to reduce the 'noise' it had created - Mark for instance removed his own comment
not a big deal, just wanted to ensure jonplaca had understood the idea of the community
unfortunately he hasn't joined the room yet

I work in Norwich and Sheffield at the minute. Before that I was in London getting involved with startups
London is great but the commute was a killer. 90 mins every morning on the train.
Where in Spain are you Tiago?

Valencia
A very nice city to live!
sunny almost the whole year
very different from London
@Venture2099 will introduce you through linkedIn then - was wondering if you were by the City, I could personally introduce you next time I go there

7:47 PM
Let's definitely meet up for a coffee when you are back in London anyway! More than a coffee.
Make a night of it

@Venture2099 deal - I'm working to go by early May, but there's a lot going on and I may need to postpone it. Anyways, will definitely ping you
I just realised... that in our community we might have one of the most powerful networking tool... which has been never used.
hehe
and the nice part is that we already (kind of) know each other, making the ice-breaker easier

For real
I am friends with CodeGnome, we speak fairly often. Which is good considering we started vehemently opposed to each others viewpoints haha ;-)
But it's not an empty gesture - hit me up when you are London bound and we can crush some T Bone steaks or ribs and head into Covent Garden
Right guys - gotta go. Am prepping to drive to Carcassone tomorrow. Have a great weekend.

8:03 PM
happy Easter!
and have a nice trip
WOW - just googled this Carcassone.. it's amazing!

@TiagoCardoso Yeah, with the title update, my comment isn't really needed anymore. I'll remove it.
