12:53 AM
T.T cries while trying to write my program for this.

19 hours later…
7:25 PM

A: Golf a number bigger than TREE(3)

Simply Beautiful ArtRuby, 322 bytes, fψ9(9)(9) where f is the fast growing hierarchy and ψ is an ordinal collapsing function described below. def f(b,n=0)n<1?b.class!=Array:(n.times{n+=b==1?n:f(g(n,b),n)};n)end;def g(n,r)a,b=r;f(r)?(r>1?r-1:n):r.size>2?h(n,a,b):b>1?[a,b-1]:b>0?a:[a,n]end;def h(n,a,b)(x=b!=0?[a,i(n...

@SimplyBeautifulArt Have you actually checked whether your number is larger?

@flawr what do you mean?
If my explanation aligns with my program, then yes, the result is much larger than TREE(3)

@SimplyBeautifulArt I mean ran the program and subtracted TREE(3) from the output to see if you still get a positive number XD

XD Obviously I can do that :P

8:24 PM
I'm mostly worried I've made a mistake somewhere.

(from the infinite series video)
@SimplyBeautifulArt I wonder what it would look like in e.g. powers of ten or so.

@flawr let x = my number
x ≈ 10^x

haha XD

That is, the difference between x and 10^x is insignificant compared to x and f(a,x) for most ordinals a

I don't understand why there is a red dot in the wolframalpha picture.

8:29 PM
There isn't any real solution.
The red dot probably signifies when 10^x is closest to x.

Strange, I thought it only pops up for actual solutions.

I couldn't find any other examples where it does this.

Say, did I mention of the time I found a mistake in WA?

8:48 PM
You did?

Yeah
apparently its been fixed
It used to say it diverged.
Shoot
There are some errors in my code.
:(
Hopefully fixed

9:40 PM
I found a few errors on mathworld and reported them, but they were not corrected until I checked last
@SimplyBeautifulArt now it first says = -3.2.... and then (integral does not converge)

10:15 PM
@flawr lol
