Q: Where is Vālmīki right now?

sv.This answer claims that, Vālmīki, the author of Rāmāyaṇa, is still alive: Valmiki is still living. He was also present during the conversation between Yudhishthira and Bhishma which is recorded in Anushasana Parva of Mahabharata. If Vālmīki's alive, I wish to know where is he right now. I m...

@sv. Hi...

sv.
@Tezz Hi ..

Did you see my answer to your meta question?... what do you think?...

sv.
@Tezz "Why do you think Valmiki should have died?" - Swami Vivekananda died, Swami Sivananda died, Swami Chinmayananda died etc.

@sv. Haha... nice reasoning... see my answer here: hinduism.stackexchange.com/questions/3298/…

@Tezz You might have heard about this Buddhist monk .. I'm pretty sure when the time comes, he's going to die as well!
Ram Bahadur Bomjon (Sanskrit: राम बहादुर बामजान) (born c. 9 April 1990, sometimes spelled Bomjan, Banjan, or Bamjan), also known as Palden Dorje (his monastic name) and now Dharma Sangha, is from Ratanapuri, Bara district, Nepal. He drew thousands of visitors and media attention by spending months in meditation. Nicknamed the Buddha Boy, he began his meditation on May 16, 2005. He told them he had left his meditation place, where large crowds had been watching him, "because there is no peace". He then went his own way and reappeared elsewhere in Nepal on December 26, 2006, but left again on March...

Haha he is of Nepal...
Maximum Nepali consider him fraud..

sv.
@Tezz Ha Ha .. what about the video which says he was fasting for 2 weeks ..

@sv. I don't know what happened to him.. he might be truly practicing at that time.. but latter may be deviated from the path...

sv.
@Tezz Yes, saw that answer. "he will not be touched by disease, old age or death" (Na Tasya Rogo Na Jarã Na Mrityu) -- so basically invincibility?
@Tezz "(Na Tasya Rogo Na Jarã Na Mrityu)" -- show me proof of current day saints (last 1000 years) .. where the body is still preserved along with the soul.
If "he will not be touched by disease, old age or death" -- if it was true word-for-word, many master yogis should be still alive today and living somewhere in open .. not hidden somewhere in the Himalayas .. but everyone says all Chiranjeevi's have a secret hideout there :)

@sv. Present days sages aren't able to increase ascetic power to such level...
@sv. If they do also why would they come to public...

sv.
5:01 AM
@Tezz Well, that's a defensive statement. Not proof of anything.

@sv. And there is one example of a sage Mahavatar Babaji... (I don't know whether you believe it or not)...

sv.
@Tezz Ok, what about him? He's still alive?

@sv. If there would be definitive proof of this... entire world will be following Hinduism now... (there wouldn't be Christians Muslims etc.. ) haha...😀😀

sv.
@Tezz Ha Ha .. And I won't be asking such Q's on H.SE also .. :P

@sv. Have you read "Autobiography of Yogi".?...

sv.
5:04 AM
@Tezz No not yet, on my "to read list" ...

@sv. See the influence section there: Influence on
George Harrison, Steve Jobs, Rajinikanth, Paramahansa Yogananda, Yukteswar Giri, The Beatles and others

sv.
@Tezz Well that doesn't prove anything .. it's all personal beliefs .. like how Ekalavya worshiped an idol of Dronacharya.

@sv. Also see: Titles/honours Deathless guru
@sv. I'm not saying it does proves something..
I've already told:
If there would be definitive proof of this... entire world will be following Hinduism now... (there wouldn't be Christians Muslims etc.. ) haha...😀😀

sv.
@Tezz I don't think that anyone thru yoga can become invincible....prolong life little bit - yes. But prolong life as a warrior - I seriously doubt.

@sv. It doesn't matter what you or I think... If scripture says it's possible... then it's possible...😀😀 haha

sv.
5:12 AM
@iammilind IMO, to live 100+ years, you cannot be a Kshatriya, sharpening your swords, practicing bow and arrow day and night to be ready for war anytime. Just retire into the forests, take your mind away from all worldly things, then, yes, it might be possible to live even 200-300 years as it says in III.62. — sv. Nov 23 '16 at 5:54
@Tezz Yeah, that's basically calling a Doubting Thomas naastika-vaadi and shut him out .. :P

@sv. @Tezz I think Mahatavar Babaji doesn't have Physical body. He has only Sukshma Sareera and this is the reason he appeared as ball of light to them.

sv.
@TheDestroyer Ok, that makes sense. I can believe that.
Sadasiva Brahmendra was a saint, composer of Carnatic music and Advaita philosopher who lived near Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu during the 18th century. He composed mainly in Sanskrit. Only a few of his compositions have survived but they are recognised as great compositions of Carnatic music. == Life == Sadasiva was born to a couple Moksha Somasundara Avadhaani and Parvati. His initial name was Sivaramakrishna. He was married at the age of 17. Sadasiva lived in Kumbakonam, in Tamil Nadu in the 17th to 18th century. Two other prominent Hindu saints Sridhara Venkatesa Ayyaval and Sri Bodhendra Saraswathi...
On the river banks of Cauvery in Mahadhanapuram, he was asked by some children to be taken to Madurai, more than 100 miles away, for an annual festival. The saint asked them to close their eyes, and a few seconds later they reopened their eyes and found they were in Madurai.[4]

@sv. Sri Madhukarnath saw Mahatavar Babaji as Lord Shiva sitting on Kailasa Parvata.

@sv. Haha... lol...

@sv. This is possible. Those who activate Subtle body bypass all physical laws.

sv.
5:17 AM
@TheDestroyer How is this possible if there's no physical body?
@TheDestroyer Ok, I can believe that. But prolonging life .. indefinitely .. chiranjeevi .. I doubt.

@sv. Wait. I can prove you how activating Subtle body will bypass all physical laws of cosmos.

@sv. Actually we can't exactly explain it... we are like man born blind in these matters... There is a story told by Buddha which is as:
THERE was a man born blind, and he said: "I do not believe in the world of light and appearance. There are no colours, bright or somber. There is no sun, no moon, no stars. No one has witnessed these things."
His friends remonstrated with him, but he clung to his opinion: "What you say that you see," he objected, "are illusions. If colours existed I should be able to touch them. They have no substance and are not real. Everything real has weight, but I feel no weight where you see colours."
A physician was called to see the blind man. He mixed four simples, and when he applied them to the c
@sv. Similar is our case....😀😀

@sv. In equation, m= m0/root(1 -(v2/c2)).. you need infinite (physical) mass to travel with speed of light.
For those realized sages, whole universe is their body. Also, you can observe, all particles which travel at speed of light are massless.

sv.
@Tezz Good story .. But why didn't the sages who heard the Vedas directly say so in the Vedas themselves? That it's possible to live for a 1000 years thru yoga?

Since they transgress physical laws, they appear as ball of light sometimes (when their frequency is in visible spectrum).

5:25 AM
@sv. Vedas also talk of 1000 yrs. Yajna... it means that it's possible to live for 1000 yrs. also...

sv.
@TheDestroyer Ok assuming it to be true, are you saying they can suddenly become light particles and also suddenly a full grown human being?

@sv. Yogananda explains this in Autobiography of a Yogi.

sv.
@Tezz No, AFAIK, how those 1000 yr. yagnas are done is .. the priests change often in cycle .. how the security guard changes in front of an ATM !!
@TheDestroyer Ok, then we can resume this chat after I read it. I read it in bits & pieces but not fully.

@sv. Laws of Subtle body are beyond the laws of Physical body. If you can activate Subtle body, you can go beyond laws of Physical body. No. We see people with Subtle body as just ball of light due to our limitations.
@sv. Did you know during 2015 Brahmotsavams, light appeared before Venkateswara?
That light could be Brahma who comes there for "Brahmotsavam".

sv.
@TheDestroyer No I didn't know. Will read about it....but what I heard is...the Makara Jyothi in Sabarimala was a fake one :P

5:29 AM
@sv. I think Vedas tell same priest does that task... Keshav knows more about it.. he told it's in Pancabhishma Brahmana...

@sv. Comparing priests with guards with ATM's, I feel you are a critic...:P

@sv. Btw what is meant by afaik?...

@sv. What is Makara Jyoti..?

sv.
@Tezz Actually, I thought when they say 'tapasya' in Ramayana & Mahabharatha .. I used to think endless tapasya with fasting ..
But now I realize, they used to eat once in a while to prevent dying from hunger.

5:31 AM
@Tezz As far as I know.

@sv. See this video. That light could be creator Brahma or any Deva who came there to do "Utsavam" for Srinivasa.

@sv. "I thought" ... so what do you think now....?..
@SreeCharan Ok... Thank You!...
@sv. Where did you read that...?...

@Tezz In Ayyappa temple of Kerala, in every year on the day of Makara Sanskranti, a light or Jyoti appears thrice. Many Ayyappa devotees see that.

sv.
@Tezz Read what? About Tapasya & Fasting? In MB, Arjuna's tapasya to Shiva.

@sv. The temple officials have themselves admitted in the court that they produce that light in the forest.

sv.
5:33 AM
@SreeCharan Yeah. I'm thinking something like that going on with Tirupati also .. :)

@sv. What in tirupati?

@sv. Can you give me that chapter...?..

@sv. what tirupati?

sv.
@SreeCharan I believe that Einstein was a priest in his field of work .. similar to a Brahmana.
@SreeCharan I believe that an ATM guard has equal chance to moksha just as a priest in temple!

@sv. Believing Subtle things are must for us to understand hinduism properly. During Pushkaras, Seven Sages with subtle bodies come to rivers and stays there for 12 days. So, river gets such powers. Else, why would rivers get such powers?

sv.
5:36 AM
@Tezz Will need to look for it...but I've heard in couple of MB discourses now. Should be easy to find a reference.

@sv. Ok... I'll myself search then...

@sv. There are three types of Tapasyas. Satvic, Rajasic and tamasic.

sv.
@TheDestroyer Ok, how do we know which one is it? Arjuna's tapasya to Shiva and he meeting Kiraata?

There's no need to fast always. Many sages don't do this. Only Rajasic or Tamasic people do these tapsyas.
@sv. I think it could be Rajasic as he wanted Pasupatastra but the moment he saw Shiva he forgot desire of getting "Pasupatastra". So, i think more of Rajsic with little Satvic.

sv.
@TheDestroyer Ok. What is the point of Satvic tapasya? No desire for anything?

5:42 AM
@sv. Jnana and ultimately Moksha. It could need not be always sitting in Padamasana.

sv.
@TheDestroyer You said "Did you know during 2015 Brahmotsavams, light appeared before Venkateswara?" .. so I'm guessing similar to the Sabarimala ..

@sv. No. This is entirely different. light was captured in Camera.

sv.
@TheDestroyer A lot of amateur photographers over-expose their pics. leading to over brightening certain sections of the photos :P

@sv. It is a belief, that when Brahmotsavams are conducted, all the devatas come to Tirumala for attending. Brahma comes there and conducts them in subtle body.

Someone may have used focus lights also...

sv.
5:47 AM
@TheDestroyer I experiment a lot with cameras so I know how it works .. teach friends how to use DSLR correctly.

@SreeCharan Exactly. That light was Brahma.
@sv. Ok. See videos after reading Autobiography of Yogi and decide yourself what that "light" is.

sv.
@SreeCharan Yeah, if some people want to believe that, I have no issues :)
@TheDestroyer Yeah, sure, will need to read & catch up with you on that.

@sv. ok.

@sv. I am not sure about the light in the camera but I strongly believe brahma coming to Tirumala during brahmotsavam.

@SreeCharan Even normal times you can feel some mysterious power when you go to Mula Virat.

sv.
5:52 AM
@TheDestroyer Yes, I agree. I've heard Chaganti tell that Vibhishana came to a Ram temple one day with huge flowers .. one devotee was sleeping inside the temple fell into the flower and went to Patala loka along with Vibhishana .. who discovered him and dropped him back on earth ... :)

@sv. which temple?

sv.
@TheDestroyer He mentioned a news report .. magazine article etc. I might have the link to video .. will send u later.

@sv. Are you talking about Tirumala Temple?

sv.
@TheDestroyer No .. it was some temple of Rama .. since Vibhishana is Rama's devotee.

@sv. ok.

sv.
5:56 AM
@all bye .. logging out now.

@sv. Bye! Mingle with Brahman.
