@Nathaniel @curiousdannii I did some Googlefoo and may have determined a few things, but none explain why he hasn't been to the site since June 1.
Didn't he mention previously that he's in his 20's.
@bruisedreed Are you going to submit a nomination for moderator? There's a good chance I'd vote for you.

This is probably Thaddeus' Wikipedia page, but I think that indicates he hasn't had activity since 2014.
Says he is on staff here. I think we can rule out "dead".
Unless that's not him, but I'm pretty sure.
His blog has posts from October. That means he was maintaining an online presence for months after his last visit here.
His facebook is pretty quiet, since July.
Got bored and moved on, I'm going to say.

@fredsbend I've certainly been considering it. Why not yourself? - I can say the same about you...

@fredsbend That's my blog.
@bruisedreed Both of you would be great choices.

@Mr.Bultitude Yes, I remember that now. I have to be honest. I thought for a brief moment that you and Thaddeus were the same person. Perhaps I just got mixed up.
@bruisedreed Frankly, I'm just not interested enough in the site topic anymore to be a decent moderator, or at least a happy one.
I have thought about it a few times since the announcement, but I keep coming back to that. I haven't participated pretty much at all in months, and that is intentional.
But I do care about this community. This site and community helped me figure out some things in a very important way and I want to do help keep it around a while longer to hopefully help people who were struggling in the same way.

It might also be odd to have a moderator that isn't a self-proclaimed Christian. Other than that, I think you'd be fine as a mod.

@El'endiaStarman I know it would cone up as a sticking point more frequently than it should.

@curiousdannii @fredsbend While we're on that topic, did we ever decide about Narnian? I seem to recall looking into his disappearance before and come to some conclusion but I've forgotten what we decided happened to him.

@Caleb No I don't know anything either

Q: Is doctrinal unity enforced in Judaism and if so, How?

TheIronKnuckleIn Catholicism we have the concept of the Magisterium. The Magisterium is the official teaching office of the Church and consists of all the bishops who are united to the Pope. The Magisterium is believed to have the divine authority to declare dogmas and teach doctrine. Once a dogma has been def...

@MattGutting Have you ever prayed the Liturgy of the Hours in a group like that? I think it's a pretty common way of doing it - keeps all the kids engaged, we just kind of muddle our way through it

@PeterTurner A relatively few times (Morning Prayer/Lauds only) in a group - and quite honestly rarely on my own. But I think it's pretty common.
The Universalis online Divine Office is designed that way - it marks out "Leader" with roman type and "Congregation" in italics, much as you've described it: universalis.com/vespers.htm
The Latin Divine Office is marked out similarly with "V" and "R". The only difference I see is that (from my experience singing chant) typically the psalms are reserved for the cantor/choir, not the congregation.

I've got two Common Prayer books, neither have V's and R's and nothing is marked out explicitly except the responsory.
I have seen it in some of the printed versions though, maybe in Magnificat too.

I have the "Laudate" and "iBreviary" apps on my phone, without looking I think they have them.

3:17 PM
I see univesalis says "Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end." The common prayer book abbreviations this "Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning, is now and shall be forever" That's confusing when praying with the boys too.

3:28 PM
@PeterTurner Yeah, "world without end" is the traditional (more-or-less literal) direct translation from Latin. If I were translating it from scratch, I wouldn't go either of those ways. I'd say "throughout ages of ages" or something like that.

@Caleb I looked at his profiles a bit ago but that's it. Though he mostly positively contributed he was one of those users who was sort of a maverick. The kind more likely to just disappear without saying anything.

Q: Christians Allies of Gog and Magog

Ezra HoersterThis Wikipedia article concerning Gog and Magog says Rashi wrote that the Christians would ally with Gog and Magog to destroy Israel, only to be thwarted in the end. Where does he write this?
