Hi, i wanted to ask something that's more about japan in general than a language question. in this image i originally was told that what the Miko are wearing are Haori and Hakama but recently i learned that Haori are actually called Kosode and Hakama are called Hibakama. while i can find Kosode on Wikipedia i can't find Hibakama and instead on the wikipage i find the term naga-bakama for the Hakama.

i am wondering what are the real terms for what Miko wear?

They do use the term hibakama in that link. But they also say that except for a certain rank, there is no set uniform, and it varies by shrine (from personal experience, this is true)

Btw, 緋袴　hibakama is just a type of 袴 hakama. The hi just means red, and hakama changes to bakama due to consonence. So literally red hakama.

Anyway, two suggestions. First, the text is available for free on Aozora. Link: aozora.gr.jp/cards/000156/files/1465_16805.html As such, the font and spacing can be adjusted as desired. Second, if you want a book, I recommend the version that Iwanami publishes. Not only do they have a great reputation as a publisher, but they put out high quality and often definitive versions of popular literature. If you are in Japan, you can find this book at a used book store for probably 100 yen.
