Is it just me or have we had a lot of pointless edits on old posts recently?

@Ivar If you're going to be making edits, please make them more substantial than correcting a single word in each. If a one-character adjustment that wasn't impeding legibility is all that there is to be made, it's preferable to not make an edit at all. — doppelgreener 30 secs ago
It's not just you. I've left a comment.

Okay
And seems he wants to go on an even bigger edit spree in the magic category to change links to use the gatherer format

@JoeW I have a good success rate with problematic editors of just leaving a comment on something they've edited, pinging them, and making a request that they tone it down and be more selective or outright stop what they're doing.
an "alot" -> "a lot" change is something I'd never make unless I'm already in that post editing it to do something more meaningful.

Q: Should you edit answers to contain the [mtg:Card name] link instead of a direct link to the gatherer?

Ivar de BruinCurrently we have the future to create card links to magic card using the following format[mtg: Card name] and this should be used instead of creating a link to the gatherer yourself, but should we edit all the gatherer links in older posts to links using the current mtg: format. I know this wil...

@Metagamer Well, that's context for the recent edit spree

Well looks like the front page is going to be spammed with pointless edits for a while as he already accepted an answer
Nah before this he was just editing to fix grammer
but I like how he already accepted an answer and my opinion doesn't matter because a moderator gave a different answer (along with caution about doing mass edits)
seems to think that only moderators opinions matter

That guy is also super concerned about rep and how I must know nothing since I have so little rep

I did not say you know nothing i was talking about experience, which a user like jefromi has more then you

You very much implied it
otherwise why keep bringing up rep and making it look like I have a lot less then I had

you responded that 5k was much and i responded to that

The simple fact is that almost every one of your edits was pointless
and bumped old dead posts to the front page

I already admitted that i misread jefromi post

6:20 PM
which you now are responible for over half of the posts on there
you where doing mass edits long before you asked that question
so don't blame his answer
Also if you are going to ask a question on meta give the entire community time to responsd
not just wait for an answer you like

Q: What are the best ways to find answers that should be flagged or edited?

ire_and_cursesI've been experimenting with the flagging system for the last couple of days. I have learned a few strategies, but I feel that I'm making little difference to the mountain of accumulated rubbish. Having easily run out of my 48 flags within a few minutes tonight, I am now helpless for another 19 ...

if you read the answers here you can conclude that correcting typos is not a problem and is why i did those edits

That was a post from 6 years ago, you think nothing has changed since then?

Well I thought that you should still edit typo's, apparently not

edit typos as you come across them sure
mass edit typos on a low traffic site no

I did not think about the fact that this is a low traffic site and this question mostly was about stackoverflow which has crazy traffic

6:26 PM
You also responded to another user who made a note about making lots of small edits

also i think we should delete the comments from our discussion about your rep as they are not usefull to other users
you agree?

On a low traffic site it is easier for a question to get bumped off the home page and never be seen if there are mass edits
you are free to do what you want
that was a better update but I don't think tappes is a word

whoops

6:42 PM
I would also point out that it is now highly discouraged for anyone to make mass suggested edits to fix minor typos. There can only be so many suggested edits at a given time (i think 200) and it wastes a lot of other peoples time to review them.
