@egreg With reference to my question: tex.stackexchange.com/questions/334969/… and its comments, since you are one of the partecipant to the meeting, could you ask the authors why they have chosen to improve bibtex instead of implementing their ideas in biber/BibLaTeX (if it is not impolite)?
