A: List of Techelet Wearers

Hacham GabrielAn incomplete list: R' Meir Mazuz (on Shabbat) - source R' Herschel Schachter R' Yisroel Belsky (when wearing a long frock coat to cover it) R' Abraham Twerski (source) R' Zalman Nechemia Goldberg R' Simcha Kook R' David bar Hayim R' Yehoshua Buch R' Yoel Bin-Nun (only on his suit-jacket) R' Mo...

Is removing the names of now deceased rabbis appropriate?

@DoubleAA I guess they answered the OP's question of who influenced halacha (at the time the question was asked) etc., so it's probably better to leave them in.
Just MHO.
@MonicaCellio From a link to Worldbuilding Meta there, I got to this interesting query.

Q: Are you happy from your good questions or from wrong answers?

koutyRabbi Nachman Mibreslav wrote in Likutey moharan chapter 56:

@msh210 fascinating. It seems fitting that you have the top tag score in . I didn't know we had a tag until I saw it on your list. I'm also not sure if I knew we had an tag before seeing it on Isaac's list.

2:39 PM
@MonicaCellio On that list for is someone whose "about me" says just "I live in Israel".

2:59 PM
@msh210 but doesn't say whether he's always been there. Hmm.

@msh210 Interesting. Looking at mine, I see that many of them are swung essentially by one answer that got popular, rather than by a superior body of work within the tag.
An alternative way to answer the same question would be to count a user's answers within a tag whose upvotes or net-votes exceed some threshold. That would probably be a better proxy for relative knowledge or even relative contribution-level by topic.

Q: Let's make Mi Yodeya more friendly to people and machines that can't see images: alt text fix

Isaac MosesBackground Today in the chatroom, we were discussing the practice of adding meaningful alt text to images on the web. Alt text is displayed when the image cannot be displayed and is therefore especially important for visually impaired readers who use a screen-reading device to tell them what's o...

Everyone please try and do a handful of posts.

You have a lot of characters to use in the post. There is no reason your question should ever only be one sentence and match the title. — Double AA ♦ 7 mins ago
What do people think of closing such posts as unclear? There is essentially no body to the post, so it's not entirely clear what they are asking

Hi. I'm new. I had 2 questions. Is there any gain to me going through the back log of unanswered questions to find any I can answer and are answers based on general knowledge rather than sources useful or should they be avoided?

Hi...I want to suggest that the "yahrtzeit" tag be renamed "yahrzeit" as that is (really) the standard spelling.

@YK Welcome! 1) Sure, going through Unanswered questions, especially in an area you know something about or know how to research, could be quite valuable. The reason we keep them around is on the hope that someone will come along and answer them some day. 2) See these Meta posts:

Q: Answers - When is a source required?

pzkdDisclaimer: Sources are extremely important in Judaism, as (almost) every Halacha, or Minhag (custom) has a clear source. Additionally, Judaism places sources and tradition so high, that it is considered fundamental. The question below, is only discussing the purpose and definition of this site...

Q: Requiring sources for "tacit culture" and "common knowledge"

Noach MiFrankfurtI have occasionally run into an issue where I am writing either a question or (more rarely) an answer and I haven't had any decent sources on hand, because I had viewed the elements of the question as being reliant on common knowledge or tacit culture within the Jewish community.* Should such co...

Q: Better to post an answer with no source, or not to post at all?

user1095Sometimes I read a new question, and I want to provide an answer, but I don't have the time at that moment to find the appropriate source citations. Then, I will receive comments in my answer asking for sources. It's a legitimate request of course, but sometimes the questioner really wants a pr...
