I'm surprised by the amount of Mi Yodeya activity over the past 24 hours.

@YEZ Too high or too low?

YEZ
depends which definition of high we are using.
but too high.

3:27 AM
@YEZ Based on what? (I'm not trying to be difficult; I'm always interested to hear the details of how different people perceive what's going on here.)

@MonicaCellio The OP did edit (and it's a good thing, too, as I'd assumed she'd meant crossing fingers as a way of allowing oneself to lie with impunity). I agree it's openable now and, since no one's answered you here to the contrary, will do so.

@msh210 thanks. Is your comment now obsolete? (Well, part of it -- want to keep the welcome, but the request for an edit doesn't apply now.)

@MonicaCellio I'll delete and post a new one. Thanks for the heads-up.

@msh210 thanks.
And thanks for re-opening.

What's that Web site that presents run-on brief quotations representing a (chosen) person's output on a (chosen) Stack Exchange site, please?

@msh210 I think it's "flack" something, but I haven't succeeded in guessing it.
Oh. Because maybe it's an app rather than a URL?

4:01 AM
@MonicaCellio Hm, "flack exchange" and "stack flack" don't do it....
@MonicaCellio Thank you! The URL is in that post: quickmediasolutions.com/flack

@msh210 See ^^^ -- I was trying variations of flackoverstow (.com, .org...) and not getting anything, but DNS was the wrong approach.
@msh210 enjoy! (I hadn't gotten as far as testing that URL yet to see if it's still good.)

@MonicaCellio :-) Yaga't umatzas.
@MonicaCellio It is.

On that note... TZT all. I wonder what flack will await me in this room tomorrow. :-)

@MonicaCellio TZT. And no need to wait.

Anyone: Is this question closureworthy as "unclear what you're asking"? (I think it is, but am not sure enough of that to be comfortable casting my binding unilateral closure vote.) I'd hate for answerers to start addressing one thing (s'sam yenam e.g.) while he's looking for something else (bringing a korban chatas for _m'lacha_e.g.).

6:25 AM
@msh210 I agree. As you indicate, this particular piece of jargon can have various meanings. It's a one-liner question, so it's not like you're [temporarily] shutting down tons of work on OP's part. Let him [continue to] learn that the quality of the question is of paramount importance.

Why was this question downvoted into oblivion?

@msh210 nice!
@Daniel check the edit history. I suspect that many of the downvotes came early in the question's life.

Hello all. We've gotten a couple offensive posts lately (one pure nonsense, one christian spam). General reminder: please flag those as offensive or spam when you see them (and vote to delete if you can). The guidance we've gotten from SE on this in the past is that we shouldn't edit those posts; doing so may prevent other people from seeing the problem and flagging. Also, post-edit flags could cause a penalty to the lsat editor -- not what we want!
I'm saying that's the guidance we've gotten, not "so do this", because I realize that leaving such offensive garbage live on the site is also problematic. So my request instead is: if there are people around, please bring it up in chat to see if we can get the 6 community votes needed (or any mod) to kill it quickly. Use your best judgement; if nobody's around and it's bad, I'm not going to complain about an edit.
This is just a reminder that there's another way to kill these that works better from SE's point of view, if we can make it happen.
And finally, thanks all for your efforts to keep the site clean and welcoming!

@MonicaCellio Thanks. I will keep this in mind going forward. I'd suggest that given this tension between speed and systematism, we err on the side of speed for spam questions and on the side of systematism for spam answers, since the former are directly visible on the front page, while the latter are only visible to the subset of readers who click through to the particular question post.

@IsaacMoses that makes sense to me. And thanks for all your help fighting off these problems.

@MonicaCellio Thanks, as always, for your moderation.

@IsaacMoses Based on the obligations of the day and the general involvement in festivities. Purim is usually pretty hectic for me.
