@HodofHod There's also the weirdness that chocolate chip cookies keep that name on this side of the Atlantic, but it's processed all as one unit. A "chocolate chip cookie" is just a type of biscuit; it's not processed as being a "cookie" with chips of chocolate.

(And, by the way, Nice biscuits are rather nice.)

I read "Bad X; no biscuit" as intelligible in American, on the assumption that it's referring to a dog biscuit used as a training device.
