So, Why JONAH? It seems an odd name to choose.

@TRiG It doesn't to a Jew. The story of Jonah is the epitome of teshuva (repentance). That's why we read it annually on Yom Kippur (see judaism.stackexchange.com/q/18691/759). It's about realizing one's previous actions were wrong and trying to restart a relationship with God even when you don't initially understand all of His decisions (judaism.stackexchange.com/q/18705/759).
Judaism holds those who truly fully repent in even higher regard than those who never sinned at all.

@DoubleAA Indeed, some of that is explained in comments on the post I linked to above. I still think it's an interesting question to raise. And the Book of Jonah is an instructive morality tale. I like it.
