Q: How should we get responses from SE?

HodofHod(Warning: the tone of the following is meant to be take in good humor.) Ok, so let's say, theoretically of course, that someone has a question that ideally should (or must) be answered (or at least addressed) by SE staff. Let's assume further that SE staff had previously advised that such questi...

Q: Undo Comment Voting

Double AAWhen I upvote (or downvote) a question or answer, I have a certain window of time to undo my vote. It doesn't seem this exists for upvotes on comments. (I haven't tried regarding comment flags because I couldn't try on random comments!) Why is this? Shouldn't we allow for mistaken clicks for comm...

@msh210 - Hey, thanks for the hebrew terms in the glossary!

Gut Shabbes @IsaacMoses

@HachamGabriel Shabbat Shalom!
chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/1739170/jewish/… is inspiring. That's some Q&A gold, right there.

4:42 PM
@NeilFein Welcs.
@IsaacMoses Well, the halachic aspect is AFAICT clear.

@msh210 Right, and they made sure to include it clearly, but managed to not bang the girl over the head with it, instead providing guidance and ideas for alternative positive action she can hopefully relate to.
... not the treatment you'd want in an encyclopedia of Halacha, but as a responsum to an individual, it's, as I said, gold.

@IsaacMoses I agree.
@IsaacMoses Right, I misunderstood your previous post ("...inspiring...").

@msh210 What, you thought I was sarcastic?
@msh210 Or perhaps you understood correctly: I do think that if this question were posed here, this sort of treatment (although perhaps not quite as extensive) would be excellent.
... The question was not "is tattooing permitted?" or even simply "should my daughter get a Holocaust tribute tattoo?" but had more nuance and motivation. The answer responded to the entire question.

@IsaacMoses Depends how it's asked. Asked as a halachic question, it has a very short answer. Asked the way it was, I can picture Shalom doing it justice here.

@msh210 :) Exactly. Baruch mi she'asa Shalom ba'olam.

My misunderstanding was: I thought you meant that that page can serve as a springboard for further questions directly on its topic, for here.
@IsaacMoses (Is that a quote? Not familiar. If so, nice pun. :-))

@msh210 Not quite. Just stringing together some words that sometimes come together in berachot, perhaps changing the tense of one.
@msh210 Oh. No. Inspired by the form, not the content.

@IsaacMoses Yeah: got it now. :-)

5:52 PM
Well, good Shabas, @IsaacMoses and whoever else might walk in here before Shabas. Enjoy the show (of Par'o's getting beaten).

6:19 PM
@msh210 You, too.
