Hi
Gary's Student
1:36 PM
Good day!
Prasanna
I'm a newbie to VBA
I tried running your code - but did not see any output
just wanted to understand what I was doing wrong
Gary's Student
Did you see any error messages??
Prasanna
no
i ran the code using
F5
- no output
I tried using step
F8
nothing... yet... I don't know how it is failing
Gary's Student
There are many things to check. Make sure the source data in in cols
A
and
B
Prasanna
yes it is
Gary's Student
1:40 PM
Make sure the worksheet with the data is
Selected
Prasanna
Oops
tried
Selection
as well - doesn't work
wait
I think i need to save the workbook with some name to make this work?
even saving the workbook with .xlsm extension did not help
Gary's Student
Make sure your
Security Settings
allow macro execution.
Prasanna
they do
"Enable all macros" is selected
does this code work for you?
i mean on your computer?
Gary's Student
The code works on my computer....try to insert some
MsgBox
statements to see where the code is failing.
Prasanna
ok
It is not going through the "For" loop to populate the values in the adjacent cells
LBound(ary) = 0 and UBound(ary) = -1
i have never understood these functions
Found it

We are making great progress!! It means that the
Split()
function is failing. In this case we are trying to split the items in column
B
using the two-character separator
comma space
Prasanna
The second column was not present - instead all the text was in first column as text
sorry to have bothered you Gary
Gary's Student
It is no bother..............unless we help each other, progress can be difficult.
Prasanna
I'm a big fan of yours!
Appreciate all your contribution
Gary's Student
Thank you for the feedback!
