@Patrx2 I think the two voices is in someways the most natural extension.
I mean, combinatorically, there is a limit to how many different sequences you can have going at once. I always say there's 3 levels: minimal, medium, and maximally complex. So I think two voices is a natural way to go about designing pieces.
@Patrx2 Do you use supports and interjections frequently in your pieces?
@StanShunpike It's not really two voices (as in two-part counterpoint), it's an accompanied duet. As for frequently? Oh sure! Supporting voices and interjections are part of this kind of counterpoint. Not all the voices are going to be equal - some will be subordinate - but at times one or more supporting voices will peak through with a bit of independence.
Hello all. Since last checking in here, I am the proud rent-to-owner of 3/4 Upright Bass. I just got the music for the show and it's going to kick my ass. I need some arco technique fast. And a callus on my left thumb for the higher position stuff. I may have questions soon.
