OK, so we have a few options:
1. As many mods as feasibly possible. Kind of like a FTB Ultimate.
2. A survival/tech mixture, like Crash Landing. My personal favorite
(this is what my modpack was like)
3. Fantasy with a little tech, kind of like Hexxit
4. Close to vanilla with just a few extras, no tech

a magic+tech+survival modpack

^ just about to say that
we should also open it up for PPCGers to test their mods if they want to

I'm personally against the "as many mods" as possible. It's always bothered me that modpacks like FTB Ultimate bombard players with tools

5:41 PM
Would you do any graphics mods?

I'd prefer a good collection of tech mods with some glue that make a logical progression

I would want at the very least: BuildCraft, Thermal Expansion, Big Reactors

@DrGreenEggsandIronMan graphics mods are client-side
^^

@TùxCräftîñg oh duh. Haha

I prefer tech over magic generally

5:41 PM
Unless he speaks of Chisel
^^

@BusinessCat I don't know if Mekanism still exists but it's pretty good

I have nothing to contribute to this conversation. I haven't played MC in ages.

Mekanism still exists AFAIK
and it's a pretty good mod

Oh gosh it does?

OK, nice.

5:42 PM
Yeah Mekanism too

@GamrCorps ?
It's not that old, is it??

Applied Energistics 2 is also vry good

I haven't used that in ages, now thanks to enderio and big reactors

eh
@TùxCräftîñg AE2 is somewhat mandatory, although I've looked into alternatives before
Is IC2 still around? lol

the rftools and logistics pipes alternetives are OK, but AE2 is prefered
and yes IC2 is still awesome

5:44 PM
Ah, logistics pipes. That was the one I was remembering
I actually prefer that because it integrates with BC a little better
@GamrCorps I shall smite thee

yeah
@quartata haha

If we're going for as many mods as possible, at the very minimum we should try to eliminate redundant items using a server plugin.

It drives me nuts that there are 5 different kinds of wrenches and that kind of shit in FTB Ultimate.

that's really easy, now that we have full oredict support and manipulations NEI/JEI takes care of some of that for us. Also, modders natively support each other's wrenches for the most part

5:47 PM
That's not the point though
It's just that there even are five different wrenches
It's always really bothered me

true

Ha, looking through my mods folder and I found a super obscure mod that adds granite/diorite and other stuff. If we're doing 1.8 we sure won't need that....

Also, worth noting that AE2 only exists up to 1.7.10, as they have stopped working on it. Anything 1.8+ would require other mods

I think we should just pick mods and see what version we can fit them into.

1.7.10 is the better version for mods

5:49 PM
Is Project Red still around?

yeah

Pretty much the last pieces of RP2 :(
twas a better time

Here is a spreadsheet where people can suggest mods. I preloaded the list with one of my 1.7.10 modpacks that was pretty good

The good old 6502 based PEP-8 with a Forth OS :(

I like Mystcraft a lot

5:54 PM
@GamrCorps Lotta mods

suggestions
not final

Can I add more in to the spreadsheet?

of course

lol, my username doesn't fit in the columns

Tinker's Mechworks is actually really really good

5:57 PM
Which is the one that has berries?

Ugh, Thaumcraft. Hell no.
Blood Magic I like though. Hmm

@BusinessCat BoP

You literally can't have TC without Igauna's btw

agreed

@GamrCorps ewwwww biomes of plenty
hellll no

5:59 PM
BoP is life

Fuck no. ExtrabiomesXL

EXL and BoP integrate together AFAIK

I can see the argument both ways, I don't personally like BoP that much, and I haven't used EXL, but I only use them for more decoration blocks lol

I don't really care about either

I like BoP but I could live without it

6:02 PM
I can configure BoP and EXL to work together but that means we'll have to vote which of the conflicting biomes we like better
Why do we have two computer mods
Ugh, this is turning into a massive amount of bloat

@quartata OC and CC can integrate together with some redstone hacks
CC have lua and OC have unix

@TùxCräftîñg Just pick one
@GamrCorps I can't believe you don't have Natura, lmao

OC has lua too

@TùxCräftîñg unix?
I've seen CC but not OC

That's where the berries are from, by the way.

6:04 PM
OpenComputers have a Unix like OS
@quartata Dynamic Ligth is client-side

@TùxCräftîñg So? :P

oh it's not for the server mods is for the modpack >_>

ugh, morph. blerghhh
This is starting to turn into wayyy too many mods, everyone's just voting for all the mods :P

in new versions morph non longer morph when we kill a mob
the mob is added but we dont morph

@quartata Take, say, the 30-50 most popular?

6:08 PM
I still really dislike it. (I also find it kind of creepy)
@LegionMammal978 No, hm....
I think we need to find a focus and then take the mods that play nice together and align with that focus, then vote on those

@quartata IDK, tech because it's PPCG?

That's pretty vague :P Hmm
ewww Advanced Genetics
jeez are we just throwing everything in

There's a mod, I don't remember what it's called, that lets you cut down a whole tree in one go
Anyone know of it?

@BusinessCat Treecapitator
That's pretty much a given

6:11 PM
k

Hmm, what was the one with the portable tanks
Did TE have those?

@quartata yes

K

There was something else though...
Something where you could make big tanks out of these glass things
The mod name started with Open I think
OpenBlocks?

6:12 PM
^

i think

Oh yeah yeah
OpenBlocks is really good

OpenBlocks is on the list

i gtg for now

No love for ex nihilo :(

6:13 PM
:(
LegionMammal978 dont support optifine WAT

I'm not familiar with it

optifine 1) increase perfomance 2) add shaders 3) add a lot of graphic options

Actually Optifine decreases my performance usually

strange

I'm fine with the default graphics, I don't need anything that will make it laggier

6:18 PM
i have a german ad on YTB wat

7:16 PM
You know, a TFC server would be cool
